Mental stress affects everyone and can be caused by many factors in your life and it is important to know how to deal with stress. Some causes of stress include school or work, being under lots of pressure, responsibilities, social life, major changes in life, being too busy, and relationships. One of the most stressed out group of people are teens with schoolwork, sports and social lives it can be really stressful. It is important to know how to deal with stress to prevent any health problems.
Chapter 2: Impacts of Stress
Stress can have a lot of impacts on your life it can affect your personal and social life. Some impacts causes are grades dropping, less sleep, mental illnesses, depression, mood swings, eating disorders, social withdraw, drug/alcohol abuse, and anxiety. Everyone deals with stress daily and it affects us in every aspect of our lives. The right amount of stress can lead to success but too much can be bad. Too much stress can cause anxiety and overthinking which can cause sleeping problems because your body isn't mentally at peace.
Another impact of having too much stress is drug abuse. Stressful events in life and poor self-empowerment can increase the risk of addiction. Usually when people have problems and ar under stressful situations they overuse drugs because it gives them a temporary feeling that their problems are solved. A lot of stress can eventually lead to depression. Stress can increase the hormones cortisol, and dopamine, when these fail to work and they are dopamine lowers and cortisol increases it can lead to depression. Stress can be good and helpful but too much can lead to many problems.
Chapter 3: Random Tips to Help Relieve Stress
Knowing how to control and relieve stress isn't easy and is something that comes with time. Most teens haven't figured out how to control stress and what works best for them. In this chapter we will be giving you random tips and tricks that help with stress. Some random tips are, listening to music, drawing, playing with pets, exercise, essential oils, candles, healthy snacks, walk, and chewing gum.
Listening to music can be very relaxing and help reduce stress. Slow paced music helps lower blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormones.
Exercise is really important to live a healthy lifestyle. It helps lower your stress hormones on the long run as well as improving your mood. Having stress on your body with exercise helps lower your mental stress levels. And people who exercise are less likely to go through anxiety or depression. Exercise also helps with sleep, and getting enough sleep is also an important factor on reducing stress and anxiety.
Having supports from friends and family can be very helpful when you are going through stressful times. Studies have found that people with less social connections are more likely to have depression. We hope these tips can help you relive and control some stress.
