"An onion can make people cry, but there has never been a vegetable invented to make them laugh." - Will Rogers

Bebe loved to play in the garden. She would dig up the dirt looking for worms and enjoyed helping her Mom plant seeds. But when it came to actually eating vegetables, Bebe couldn't stand them. She would eat her entire dinner and not touch the veggies on her plate. That often lead to her getting no dessert.

That night at dinner Bebe refused to eat her asparagus and so she wasn't allowed to have any delicious cake. "Just one tiny sliver?" "Sorry Bebe. you know the rules. If you had eaten your veggies at dinner you could've had cake" her Mom replied. "Alright" Bebe sighed. "I'll go upstairs and do my homework now" she said as she secretly planned to sneak downstairs later that evening.

After everyone had gone to bed, Bebe snook downstairs to steal a piece of cake. She tiptoed down the stairs as to not wake up her parents. The floorboards creaked when she got to the bottom so she paused before shuffling her way off to the kitchen.

After she had her cake and some milk, Bebe was ready to head back to bed. However, when she came around the corner she found that the stairs were being blocked.......by a giant stalk of celery? She rubbed her eyes and looked again. Yup, that celery was real and scary-looking.

When she returned to the kitchen a giant head of lettuce was waiting for her. He began to slowly roll towards her so Bebe ran out the front door. When she got outside she could see giant angry veggies everywhere.

As she ran down the street Bebe saw her friend Johnny. "Johnny! What's going on?" "They're coming to get you Bebe?" he replied in a scary voice. "Don't joke around. I'm serious Johnny." Before he could reply Johnny was eaten by a giant carrot. Bebe shrieked and continued to look for help.

"Hey kid!" a voice called out. "Over here at the farmhouse. You'll be safe with us." Bebe ran into the house just as a large group of mean-looking veggies surrounded the home. "What's going on out there?" Bebe asked. "We're being attacked by all of the veggies that we never finished during dinner. It's our punishment I guess. No time to talk. Grab a hammer and some wood and help us board up the windows and doors."
