Many years ago, there was a forest that flourished very well. The king of that forest was a lion. Everyone loved that lion, because he was a very kind and just king. But one day, that lion passed away. It was a sad moment for all the animals. For almost a year, the forest was without a king.

Long live the king !

Then one day, a lion came from a very distant forest. That lion was very proud of himself, and he made himself the ruler of that land. All the animals protested against him, but the lion said that anyone who protested against him would become the lion's dinner for a day ! The crown of the old king was very powerful. Any animal who wore that crown will have the power of banishing anyone. The cruel lion wore that crown, and everyone had to obey him unfortunately.

The cruel lion tortured the animals a lot. He made them do what he said, and if they did not listen, he killed them. The animals were miserable with the presence of the lion. A wise old turtle suggested to have a meeting with the animals. All the animals then started criticising the lion and comparing him to their old king. They missed their old and just king !!

Day by day, by the presence of the cruel king, the beautiful forest, which was first full of flowers and trees, started becoming a barren land without food and water to use. When the animals made a decision to leave the forest, the cruel lion stopped them from doing so. After many weeks, an elephant passed by the forest. He looked at the barren forest and how the animals suffered under the power of the cruel lion. The elephant was kind hearted and requested if he could help. The animals immediately agreed to the helpful offer.

The cruel lion did not hear about the arrival of the kind elephant. When he saw the elephant, he thought that the elephant was already a part of the forest. The elephant observed the way the lion tortured and pressurised the animals. The elephant did not approve of this unjust behaviour. So, he went to have a peaceful talk with the lion. The elephant said to the lion, "Master, why do you behave like this ? Please be kind towards us and we will payback the kindness to you." But the lion replied, "You don't have a say in what the king decides. Now go away, or die !" So the elephant went to the other animals and told them.

.........so that is what happened.

The elephant became the favourite of all the animals. The elephant was very helpful and he thought, that each soul is divine. At times he played hide-and-seek with the animals and educated them also. The elephant said, "The lion is not listening when I told him peacefully. Now I think I shall challenge him in a duel ! I will need to practice, my tiny friends !"
