I dedicate this poem anthology to my family. My family has been the biggest inspiration in my life, pushing me to work hard and not giving up. Mainly to my parents who raised me to the person I am today and telling me to not be afraid of who I am. They mean so much to me and I just had to thank them for it. So Mom and Dad this book is for you.

I am a creative mind
I wonder if everything happens for a reason
I hear what people say without them saying it
I see untapped potential in others
I want the world to be a better place
I am the one people turn to for help
I pretend that I have all of the answers
I feel looked down on because of who I am
I worry I won’t be able to be who I want to be
I cry because people take advantage of me
I am bold and daring
I am Poem: All that Matters
I understand that I am who I am because of the choices I’ve made
I say “ Don’t judge a book by it's cover”
I dream that no one will be judged because of how they act
I try my best to do what I can
I hope that people won't’ look at me as if I were a golden ticket to their success
I am me and that's all that matters
I wrote this poem to describe how I feel when other look at me and and I make sure that I´m not affected by it. I put down what I think this world could be one day if everyone would look deeper than just the surface. When I say ¨ I hear what people say without them saying it¨ I´m using a metaphor because if someone doesn't say anything how can that statement be heard. What I mean by this is if I look at someone and they feel a certain way I can hear what they are really trying to say. In order to fully understand the overall meaning of my poem you just need to have the right mind set and a good heart.

Writing this poem allowed me to tell you a little about myself. Who I really am under my skin, being the best person I can be. I use alliteration in " Who fears failing a class, fake people, and fortune tellers" to bring more life into the setting. The poem is easy to follow giving you information on me and who I am.
I Am Me Response
In my recreation poem I am describing the events of my night playing my favorite sport, lacrosse. In these moments I am ready for an opening face-off, then while having the ball I make a break between two players for a quick shot on the goal and the ball hitting the net. I use a simile in " My heart beating like a drum" to tell how I am feeling for the game to start being nervous and excited. Also onomatopoeia in the words " a buzz of lights" showing how quiet the field is before the start of a game. I tried to get a feel of excitement across with the same as how I feel in that time.
A Night to Remember Response
Re-Creation Poem: A Night To Remember
T’was a dark night
The crowd cheered for the start
Turf crunched beneath my cleats
I was led on the field
My heart beating like a drum
Smiling from ear to ear
I lifted my stick to get set
Everything went quiet
All that could be heard a buzz of lights
The whistle blew, players jumped up running
Breathing hard as I slipped through a narrow path
With a quick move the net folded
Definitely a night to remember
Stylistic Imitation Poem: Cold Texas Marshal
At high noon
The orange glow of the sun
At high noon
A figure in the distance
At high noon
The streets cleared like cockroaches in light
At high noon
Another figure appears
At high noon
A lone hawk cries rattling the windows
At high noon
Clank, clack went the spurs
At high noon
A ghost town ahead
At high noon
Glaring into each others eyes
At high noon
Both wait for the other to make a move
At high noon
A tumbleweed trolls pass the middle
At high noon
Everyone stone cold with no one left standing
Imitation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s style in his poem “Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías
Response: Taking place in the 1800's in a Texas town a showdown is about to take place. These types of events were drastic due to the fact that the ending was good or bad for the towns people in this case neither won. I wrote this to symbolize that when it comes to fighting even though neither wants to make a move when they do both are not in a good place. The simile " The streets cleared like cockroaches in light" this states the fact that not one wants to get caught up in something that will end horrific. All that is needed to know is there are alternative solutions to solving problems not just fighting.
I find that I use the word excitement often when talking about an experience. So using this word I would put many situations in my life to give the example. Nothing means more to me then not giving up due to the fact that when you stop trying someone takes your spot. Excite is my way of putting everything together. Just understand the definition and you will know the feeling yourself.
Blood Rush Response
Definition Poem: Blood Rush
Blood Rush
- Excite{ik-sahyt}; verb;
- A rush of energy over thrill; A feeling or emotion;
- When the desert calls for me;
- The tension and pull on the end of a line
- As I rip it from the water;
- The sweat of what follows the clash of bodies and hard work;
- Going over the dunes hitting speeds like mach one;
Stepping on the field geared up and ready to fight
And I have to give it my all;
The thought of the final bellow of the bell;
Bring the heat and not giving up;
