One Day
I am an adherent for peace
I wonder if people understand the
meaning of education
I hear the children laughing in the park
I see the airplane flying in the sky
I want people to be fair
I am positive all the time
I pretend that I am listening
I feel loved all the time
I worry when I am told “no.”
I cry for all the less fortunate people on Earth
I am quiet like a shell
I understand the humans’ greed
I say “it will happen one day”
I dream of a big family gathering
I try to understand people’s point of view
I hope that people will realize all the beautiful things in life
I am a believer. Are you?

Response for I Am Poem: One Day
This poem is all about my believes and imagination. I talk about how I believe that peace and education are essential things in life. I use the device of assonance rhyme by using “am an adherent,” which all three letters start the same, even though they don't necessarily rhyme. The second device I use is simile; I compare myself to a shell because I am as quiet as it is. In my poem, I mention a lot of things about the world, for example, a human’s greed or (un)fairness, which show what I truly see around the world and in humans all the time. I end my poem with the words, “I am a believer. Are you?” because I believe that someday all humans will treat each other with respect and equality.
Response for Bio Poem: Leza
I begin my poem with alliteration by describing the way I and others see myself, “Adventurous, Ambitious, Amiable” which all start with the letter “a” and gives the line a rhyme. I then state three things that I truly love which are, “music, mocha, movies,” which happen to all use the same letter. In the next line, I use imagery by giving the reader a vivid picture of what I love to do such as, "happy when in the sun, relaxed when listening to music, and love for her family.” I end my poem with telling the reader three places I want to go to, and because I would love to travel to numerous other places, I add a picture of a butterfly which flies, as well as colorful images for my colorful mood and love for instruments such as the violin.

Leza
Adventurous, Ambitious, Amiable, Considerate
Daughter of Lkman and Roweda
Lover of music, mocha, and movies
Who feels happy when in the sun, relaxed when listening to music, and love for her family
Who needs hours of sleep, a vacation, and relaxation
Who gives her time for her family, her niece, and her school work
Who fears insects, heights, and flights
Who would like to see the Eiffel tower, Great Barrier Reef, and Santorini
Resident of the World

It was the 7th of a gray december,
Walking past the planted trees with frost all over them
You could see the light in her eyes
The cheeks bright like fire
She gave a small breath as she heard the cars hissing
She could feel today was gonna be a good day
Not only because it was her birthday
But because for the first time
She realized the beautiful world that lay in front of her
She smiled and made sure to never forget this view

Snowy View
Response for Re-Creation Poem: Snowy View
I start my poem by giving it this title because of my topic which is about the beautiful things in life such as nature, snow, and everything else that we see everyday. My poem is mostly about how humans tend to take these beautiful views for granted and how many of us never appreciated these fantastic things such as nature. When I read “Oranges” by Gary Soto I immediately thought of writing my poem about nature views because of the many lines he used which were talking about trees, snow, and walking. This poem was probably my favorite because at first it seemed hard to recreate your poem but with another author’s words. But once I got started, I realized that not only is it much more natural than thought but also how it was a fun and great idea to use this type of way to create a poem.
Response for Lorca Imitation Poem: The Landing of Change
I had a perfect time writing this poem because of how it uses the same line about ten times yet still gives the poem an excellent understanding and reading. I used the Apollo 11 topic because I believed this mission has dramatically changed not only the U.S.A but as well as the world. I mentioned the names of the three guys that were involved in this change, as well as how the whole world was in a state of shock and overwhelmed at the same time. It was hard for them to believe that going to the moon is possible and that it was happening in front of their own eyes. I used the poetic device of personification by stating, “Now the spacecraft was filled with hope.” I thought this phrase was a great one because it made the reader imagine how everyone had their best hopes and truly believed in this mission; everyone's feeling and emotions were similar at this time.

At six thirty-two in the morning.
It was at six thirty-two in the morning.
A new era for change had been planned
at six thirty-two in the morning.
Apollo 11 left the grounds of Earth
at six thirty-two in the morning.
Armstrong, Collins, and Aldrin prepared
at six thirty-two in the morning.
Now the spacecraft was filled with hope
at six thirty-two in the morning.
Millions of humans now watched
at six thirty-two in the morning.
With one of the greatest achievements being created
at six thirty-two in the morning.
Humanity has now forgotten the bad days
at six thirty-two in the morning.
The rest was aspiration, and aspiration alone
at six thirty-two in the morning.
The human race will never forget this day
at six thirty-two in the morning.
Imitation of Federico Garcia Lorca's style in his poem "Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias."
The Landing of Change

Believe: [bih-leev], verb, adjective believable,
to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so
When I am nervous to go in front of the class;
When something goes wrong
When an airplane flies over my head like a bird
When a test is approaching closer and closer
And I am not prepared at all;
When I want to achieve my goals
When all you’ve got left is yourself
When you are confident to conquer the world
Yourself First
Response for Definition Poem: Yourself First
If I had to pick a word in the whole world that I liked the most, it would be “believe.” With the power of believing comes the power of being confident, positive, and happy. If you can believe in anything, then you can achieve anything, by first starting with yourself. I use the device of personification and imagery by comparing an airplane with a bird because of they both have the power to travel wherever they like. I also used repetition by repeating the words “closer and closer” because when I have a test that is approaching, I start to get worried that I won't do well, but when I believe in myself, all goes well. I end my poem confidently by saying that if you believe in yourself, then you can conquer all your dreams and anything you want in life.
Response for Limerick Poem: Victory Indeed
My limerick poem is about a girl who is only thinking of winning and not focusing on the fun involved. I used these words and phrases because I believe that numerous people want just to win, including myself. We are so keen on doing so that we forget to have fun and enjoy the moment while it lasts. I used alliteration by rhyming the ending of “Queen, eighteen, and keen” by all ending in -een. I also used another alliteration in lines 3 and 4 by using the words “hard and sad” by both ending in -d. I enjoyed this poem a lot, and I think it was probably the hardest even though it was only five lines, but the technique of rhyming is challenging.
There once was a limerick queen,
A women at the age of eighteen.
She thought to strike hard,
Or else it would be sad.
Because winning for her was keen.
Victory Indeed
