A story written by procrastinators.

Sun high in the sky, birds already taking their mid-afternoon nap, Later, the clock, is rolling over waking up for the day. This is the third time Later has woken up. The first two times he hit the snooze button. He thinks about the assignment that is due tomorrow which he’s been pushing off for two weeks now. Instead of getting up, Later grabs his phone and scrolls for half an hour. His stomach growls and he decides he should eat something to start his free day to be productive.
To be productive, Later creates a to-do list to ensure he can complete the boatload of homework he has, placing “HW” at the tippy top. He feels very ambitious, and wants to create a humongous omelet, pancakes, bacon, and hash browns. Before preparing all of the food, Later realizes he can never eat breakfast without his favorite drink, orange juice. He moseys on to the grocery store. Along with his meal items, Later wants to grab some energy drinks because he had a long night preparing to start his assignment.

After returning from the store and spending a great deal of time preparing enough food to feed a hungry family of seven, Later’s eyes open to the big mess he made. Starting with the kitchen, Later makes his way through every room in the house leaving exactly no trace of dust. He even decided to clean out his junk drawers, which he never does. Later adds and crosses off “cleaning” on his to-do list and sees the big, bold word "HW" on the top of the list and freaks out. “How am I ever going to complete my assignment, I have so much work to do!” Later thinks to himself.
Instead of starting the assignment, Later decides that after working so hard to clean the entire house, and then stressing over completing his homework, it is a great idea to relax by taking a quick break, to prepare himself to start working. Promising himself that it will only be 15 minutes, 3 hours pass as Later wastes time on his phone. Meanwhile, he also is subconsciously stressing out about all of the work he still needs to complete. He is trying to convince himself that he will have enough time to finish. He finally decides to begin his homework assignment.

Heading over to his backpack to get his homework, Later feels his phone vibrate in his back pocket. It is a text from his friend, Complete, asking if he wants to come over. Later becomes totally sidetracked and responds saying he doesn't have much to do and he will be over soon. Immediately, Later turns all the way around and walks out to his car, blocking out his assignment from his head.
Later diddle daddles after eating dinner with his friend and reluctantly forces himself to say goodbye, because his friend brought up the topic that he was really excited to present the assignment due the next day that he finished a week ago. Driving home, worrisome and frustrated thoughts begin to fill his brain as he thinks about all the homework he still has to finish at home. “The teacher must be out of their mind assigning something like this, how do they think I can finish all this in one night!” Later exclaims.
