Chapter 1; Part 1:
Governments have been around since the dawn of civilization. Different types of government have led to different developments in culture and technology.
Chapter 1; Part 2:
One important event concerning governments is the Signing of the Magna Carta. If this document hadn't been signed, there wouldn't have been any ground rules for advancing towards a limited government.
Chapter 1; Part 3:
One of the most common people thought of when thinking about governments is George Washington. He was responsible for helping form the United States of America's government.
Chapter 1; Part 4:
One important invention concerning governments is the Communist Manifesto. This was important because this was the basis for the Communist government.

Chapter 2; Part 1:
The age of Exploration began during the 13th century. Exploration aimed to discover supposedly undiscovered lands and to find new trade routes.
Chapter 2; Part 2:
One important event during the age of Exploration was Christopher Columbus sailing to the Americas. If he hadn't discovered this place, we may still not know about it today.
Chapter 2; Part 3:
One important person from the age of Exploration was Magellan. He was the first to circumnavigate the world, proving that a journey around the world was possible.
Chapter 2; Part 4:
One important invention during this time was the caravel. This was important because it allowed for faster travel across the seas.
Chapter 3; Part 1:
The age of Colonization was a time when nations like England were trying to gain land in the new found lands of the Americas by setting up different types of colonies and bringing slaves over from Africa.
Chapter 3; Part 2:
One important event during this time was the East India Company taking over India. This was important because this showed how an imperialist country could easily influence an area.
Chapter 3; Part 3:
One important person during this time was Governor Thomas Gates. He was important because he was the first English governor to rule in the new lands of North America.
Chapter 3; Part 4:
One important invention during this time was the Trading Post Colony. This was important because this was another way to live alongside the natives peacefully, instead of enslaving them.
Chapter 4; Part 1:
The Scientific Revolution occurred between the late 1500s and early 1600s. It was born out of the recent advancements in science and mathematics. The Scientific Revolution aimed to use reason instead of giving into beliefs.
Chapter 4; Part 2:
One important event during the Scientific Revolution was when the church's geocentric theory was challenged by Copernicus's heliocentric theory. This was important because if this hadn't happened, our whole understanding of the universe might be different.
Chapter 4; Part 3:
One important person from this time period was Issac Newton. He was important because he discovered the laws of Gravity and the laws of Motion, which challenged old theories even further.
Chapter 4; Part 4:
The Scientific Method was an important invention at this time. It provided a basis for determining the reasoning for something.

Chapter 5; Part 1:
The Enlightenment was a period between the 17th and 18th century that sought to apply reason to society and improve it.
Chapter 5; Part 2:
One important event during the Enlightenment was English Civil War. This was important because it was an example of the ideas from the philosophers of the Enlightenment being put into action.

Chapter 5; Part 3:
John Locke was an important person during the Enlightenment. He was responsible for creating the three basic rights of the citizen; life, liberty, and the right to own property.
Chapter 5; Part 4:
An important invention during this period was the Separation of Powers. If this wasn't created, all governments around the world might be dictatorships instead of limited governments.
Chapter 6; Part 1:
The American Revolution was a period when the colonists in North America revolted against their British rulers. This movement was inspired by the Enlightenment.
Chapter 6; Part 2:
An important event during the American Revolution was the victory of the American colonists. This was important because it set the example for other revolutions in different countries in the future.
Chapter 6; Part 3:
One important person during this time was Thomas Jefferson, who was one of the revolutionary leaders and justified the revolution with Locke's ideas.
Chapter 6; Part 4:
One important invention during this time was the Constitution. It was important because without it, after the revolution, the colonies could have been in disarray and ended up with an unlimited government.
Chapter 7; Part 1:
The French Revolution was a period when the lower class of French people revolted against the unfair conditions they were facing, such as being forced to pay all the nation's taxes, leaving them with practically no money.

Chapter 7; Part 2:
One important event during the French Revolution was the Fall of the Bastille. It was important because this was the trigger point of the French Revolution, and the 3rd estate were going to keep suffering if they didn't cause this.
Chapter 7; Part 3:
One important person during the French Revolution was Napoleon. He was important because all the previous ruling bodies had failed in one way or another, but Napoleon managed to keep a stable leadership.
Chapter 7; Part 4:
One invention during this time was the guillotine. This was important because without it, the Reign of Terror may never have happened, and the Revolution could have gone in a completely different direction.

Chapter 8; Part 1:
Latin American Revolutions took place after the French Revolution. They took place in South America and they mainly occurred in Spanish and Portuguese colonies.
Chapter 8; Part 2:
One important event during these revolts was Napoleon's wars in Europe because without these wars occurring, Spain and Portugal might have been able to control the slaves in the colonies better.
Chapter 8; Part 3:
One important person during this time was Toussaint Louverture. He was responsible for leading the first revolt in Latin America.
Chapter 8; Part 4:
One important invention during this time was Mexican Independence. This was important because this was one of the first nations in Latin America to gain their independence, and this was a new concept to them.
Chapter 9; Part 1:
The Industrial Revolution is a period when advancements were made in machines and production means.
Chapter 9; Part 2:
One important event during the Industrial Revolution was the Agricultural Revolution. If this event hadn't happened, the Industrial Revolution wouldn't have had a strong starting point and may never have happened.
Chapter 9; Part 3:
One important person during this time was Samuel Slater. He was important because he was responsible for sparking the U.S.'s industrialization.
Chapter 9; Part 4:
One important invention during this time was the Steam Engine. This was important because this allowed factories to be built anywhere, there for creating more working opportunities for citizens.
