All I remember is wiping the sweat off my forehead, receiving the pitch I was about to throw for the championship game. Aurora (my catcher) gave me a sign to throw a fastball. I started my wind up, released and that was the last thing I remembered.

As my last days of 8th grade were right around the corner, I couldn't be more excited to play for the Georgia All Stars. The Georgia All Stars was a team that recruited the best softball players in the state. I received an email from Coach Gale on November 20th. The email asked if I wanted to play for the Georgia All Stars. I emailed them back and accepted their request.

Finally 8th grade had ended, the last week of 8th grade seemed like forever. Our team had already had 20 practices to prepare for the 10 tournaments we were playing in this summer. I was the main pitcher on the team.

For most of my life everything evolved around softball, and even more so pitching. I have been pitching since I was about 7 years old. Softball is my passion, it is my way to escape from reality for a while. Softball has always been in my life. My mom was a division one softball player. She was the 3rd basemen. She was also the teams power hitter, she always hit the ball hard. My dad is a coach for Georgia State, he usually isn't around for most my games.

Finally on June 6th it was the Georgia All Stars first softball tournament. Coach Gale told us who the starters were and what positions they were playing. Coach Gale read off ¨Olivia at first base, Ava at second base, Maia at shortstop, Amelia at 3rd base, Evelynn pitching, Aurora catching, Harper in left field, Emma in center field and Avery in right field. That ment Paige and Layla sat the bench.

The first game went super well, I pitched the whole game. The rest of the team did super well too. We won 5-2. Our team had two more games that that day. We ending up winning one game by 6 and losing the next one by 1. I was happy to go home and sleep after a long day of softball.

Before I knew it 3 more tournaments had passed. We won 1st place in all of those tournaments. This upcoming tournament was super important. For this tournament you had to win 3 out of 4 of the tournaments you played in. Our team had won three tournaments this year, which meant we were eligible to play. If we won this tournament we would get a huge trophy and $1,000 for our softball team. We practiced everyday that week to prepare for the big tournament. We were confident and ready for the tournament. The weekend rolled around. The tournament was across the country in San Diego, California. On Friday my team and I boarded the plane, we were all super excited.

Finally after a long plane ride, we landed and went straight to the hotel and went to sleep. At this tournament my whole family went with, now this was a very rare occasion. The next morning i woke up to my mom taping me on the shoulder telling me ¨wake up!¨. The clock says 6:30 am. I was so tired and I didn't want to get up. Finally I got up, put my uniform on and did my hair. Then we got in the car that we rented and headed to the field. In this tournament we have four games, two today and two tomorrow. Also in this tournament if you lose a game then you are done. Our first game was at 8:00 am. We played against a team from Texas. The game against the team from Texas was very difficult, we ended up winning the game by one run. We had another game at 3:00pm. We played against a team from Arizona. We beat the team by two runs, we only had two more games left until the championship.

Finally after being in 90 degree weather all day, we rushed back to the hotel and jumped into the pool. Our team swam for two hours as our parents ordered pizza from Little Caesars. After eating we swam some more and just hung out as a team. We knew we had to go to bed early though because we had a big day tomorrow.
