World War II started on September 1st 1939, the day Britain and France declared war on Germany. It has only been 20 years, 9 months, and 22 days since World War I. The war lasted till September 2nd 1945, 6 years and 1 day.

World War II fought on two sides: the Axis and the Allies. The Axis contains Germany led by Adolf Hitler, Italy led by Benito Mussolini, and Japan led by Hirohito. The Allies remains to contain Great Britain, United States, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Soviet Union (Russia), India, and China.

Most events and battles happened in Europe and overseas. Such as Poland, France, Germany, Russia, and varieties of other places in Europe. There were also battles on the oceans too, like the Pacific, Atlantic, and Mediterranean Sea. Africa, South-East Asia, China, and East-Middle are places that World War II also occurred.

World War II started with Hitler’s invasion of Poland on September 1st 1939 which led to Great Britain’s and France’s declare on war on September 3rd 1939. United States and Japan joined the war in 1941, 3 years since the beginning of the war, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941.

After World War I ended and the Treaty of Versailles was signed, Germany fell economically and blamed. Germany was left with no help and filled with hatred. Hitler rose to power and became dictator

U.S Home Front begun in 1941, 3 years after Poland was invaded. There is no exact date when the home front started. But it started shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Citizens of all kind helped in the Home front:

• Men (18+)
• Women (18+)
• Children (18 and younger)

The Home Front was majority on the western side of the United States. California was one Home Front. In Richmond, California, there is a WWII Home Front National Park.

Majority of men were sent to war, fathers and sons. Women took men's places in working. Most women work in factories making weapons and etc. Children gather things to help the army and find all sorts of errands to help.
