I dedicate this book to my own older brother, Giovanni, for having to go through this when I was born.

Laura sits with her family and eats her last dinner as an only child. She chews happily on her last meatball. Her mom says, "You know Laura you're gonna be a big sister soon. That comes with a lot of responsibility, you ready?"
"Hm, yeah I guess." Laura says not caring at all.
"Laura, you need to take this seriously. You don't want to let us down now do you?" Her dad says.
"No daddy, I'm sorry." She apologizes.

After dinner, Laura washed up and got ready for bed. She laid down wondering what baby Sage would be like. She couldn't help but wonder if her parents were still mad at her. Laura was jealous of her little sister that wasn't born yet, she got more attention than Laura. And Laura wasn't happy about it.

It was Sunday morning, and her dad was moving boxes of stuff into a room."What are in those boxes Daddy?" Laura asked.
"This is all of Sage's stuff for her room." He said.
"Do you wanna play a board game?" Laura asked him.
"Sorry Laura, I am busy right now." He responded. Laura walked back to her room sad that her dad wouldn't play with her. "Why doesn't he pay attention to me?"Laura thought.

The next day at school,
" How is your day going Laura?" Her teacher, Ms. Brimstone asked her.
"My mom went to the hospital this morning with my dad! They said that baby Sage is on her way. And I'm sad." Laura said looking at her shoes.
"Oh my! Why are you sad, you should be happy to be a big sister!" Ms. Brimstone said smiling.
"All my mommy and daddy have been talking about recently is her. And she is not even here! I'm scared that they won't love me when she is here." She said.

The school day was over and Laura just got off the bus. At home, Laura's grandma was there.
"Grandma!" Laura squealed happily running into her arms.
"Hey little one, we are gonna hang out for bit you and I. Then we can go see mommy, daddy, and Sage at the hospital." Her grandma informed her.
"Can we play a board game grandma?" Laura questioned excitedly.
"Of course!" Her grandma hugged her.

After a an hour or so of playing board games and eating some snacks, they got a call and it was time to go see Sage at the hospital.
In the car Laura asked, "Grandma, will you still love me as much when Sage comes?"
"Of course sweetie, I will love you both equally my two grand daughters." She said.
"Okay grandma, I will love you too!" Laura said.
