Firstly, living a good life can affect yourself in many ways. For example, you feel great about yourself after doing a good deed. An example of this is: you are walking in the city trying to get to your favourite place to eat. This place is quite expensive, and you have just enough money to buy you favourite dish. When you are walking, you get to a homeless man begging for food and money. You walk past and think nothing of it, but you get to the window of the restaurant and see nobody else helping the poor man. You decide you have to do something. Instead of going to your favourite restaurant you go to a less expensive shop and buy you and the man a sandwich. You give the sandwich to the man. He is very grateful. You feel great. Jesus teaches us this in the Eight Beatitudes “Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied. Which easily translates to “Great blessings belong to those who want to do right more than anything else.” This was in the Gospel of Matthew 5:3-10. This is just one example of how living a good deed can affect yourself. Other people will see this and decide to help the man too.
