My name is Flavira, and this is my home. I have lived here since I was born. My nest is in the back, and Flamie and Flora's are up front. We three have been friends a long time, but I'm not like them. While they enjoy males, I prefer adventures.

This is my Gazing Pool. Sometimes I see images of Nofeathers. They have two legs, no feathers, and short necks. Odd, right? If I don't see that, I see myself floating into a swirl of stars.

This is the Waterfall, an ancient place where we find healing flowers. My job is to collect them. Sometimes, I can see the stars in the waterfall.

Drink the water to live your dream

I walked in, and saw the scroll. "Drink the water to live your dream" Dream? What is my dream? My dream is to live another way. I drank the water, and fell asleep

I dreamed I was falling into a giant blue swirl. When I got sucked in, I was traveling through a purple tube

As I flew through the purple, I saw a light, and it got closer. When I went close to the light, I woke up.

When I woke up, I noticed that I was a Nofeather. I almost screamed, but I knew better. I probably had a Nofeather family, too. Sure enough, another Nofeather came into my den. She said to come downstairs for dinner.

As the Nofeather led me to a wood plank, I smelled the most delicious aroma. I asked what it was. The Nofeather with red clothing said it was soup. The green clothed Nofeather laughed.

After eating our soup, I went into another room, this one sporting a soft nest. Four images were upon a box thing. One had my image, and it said "Emily". Was that my name? Another said Leya, the girl in yellow. The green dressed girl was called Amber, and the red clothed woman was called Mom. Was she our mother?

I rushed back to my room, brimming with questions. How would I get back to being a flamingo? What if I couldn't? Maybe I would get a dream.

Later, my mom came into my room to say good night. Why were we not in the same nest? My mother slept with me. But perhaps Nofeathers don't.

My dream sent me to a blue purple place, and a blue clothed Nofeather stood in front of me. I asked her what her name was. She said she was Sky. A blue circle was beside me. My Nofeather self was in it.

I asked Sky why I was here, and she replied with "Because you made your wish. You chose another life." But this isn't what I meant! I protested. I wanted to go to the adventure flock, not Nofeathers! I explained. "But here is a quest." Sky said. "You must unite the family to save it."

"You have all the knowledge. You know all, you feel all, and you will fix all." She said. "I will return to send you back. If you ever question something, look in the green book. Farewell, Emily."

I sat up on my bed, thinking about my dream. Now I understood. All would be okay. Right? Wait... it's Monday. I have to go to school!

I quickly ate my breakfast, because I had to leave for school soon. Mom glanced at the clock and said "Girls! finish quickly! fifteen minutes! I rushed and ran to my room.

Right after I reached the door, my sisters stopped behind me, and my mom swung the door open, yelling "Go,go, go!"

I grabbed my backpack, shoved my green book in it, making sure it was secure. Once all was good, I raced to the door.

As we pulled up to the school, I thought of my classes. I was in fourth grade, Amber is in fifth grade, and Leya is in second. My teacher was okay, but it's math, and I don't like it much.

In math class today, my teacher, Mrs. Crowen asked me to answer a question in front of the class. I got it right, but I was so nervous!

Today we started our science projects. I did mine on Flamingos. First, we had to research on our computer, then write down the good stuff. After we had our info, we made our project design. Mine was a stand-up board.

After school was done, mom picked us up, and we drove home. Usually, she was very talkative, but now she was so silent. Perhaps this was the trouble Sky spoke about. I asked her what was wrong, but she just replied with "nothing". What happened?

I asked mom what really was going on, and told her that I could help,but she just sighed and told me there was nothing I could do. I insisted that I could do something, and I raced to the kitchen, telling my mom that she should put her feet up.

I rushed into the kitchen, turned the oven on, and grabbed all the ingredients for cookies. Once the dough was ready, I mixed the chocolate chips in. Then, I set the cookie tray in the oven, and set the timer. While the cookies baked, I set out four glasses of milk. after that, I got the cookies out to cool.

I walked into the living room, and showed my mom the cookies. She set the cookies down and hugged me. Then we both sat down on the couch, and mom told me about how this rich lady wanted our house. I gasped. Then I asked her if the lady knew we weren't. Mom said no. I smiled, because I had an idea.

Mom gave us money to buy two dresses and a pair of shoes for her. I got her a giant red dress, Leya got her red shoes, and Amber got her a smaller red dress. Time for the dressing, 'cause the salad's coming. We gave her Amber's dress first. It looked good, but it wasn't fancy.

Finally, we tried my dress. It looked spectacular. Mom loved it. This would definitely impress the rich lady. All we had to do was get jewelry. Mom told us that the woman would be here in an hour. We had to hurry!

We rushed into our rooms, and helped put up the colored chandeliers in our rooms. I hid my book under the bed. No one would need to see it. I ran to Leya's room to check on her.
