Dedicated to Ms.Landry's 4th period

Whether it’s a joke, or an actual question, many of us have either heard or asked the question, why is the sky blue? Today, let’s put an end to your curiosity by answering this question.
You see, the world was once a plain place. The trees were bare, with no leaves to be seen anywhere near them. The ground was not filled with the green grass we know so well today, and most importantly, the sky did not have one trace of blue. Instead, it was white during the day, blending in with the fluffy clouds we know, and turning dark at night fall.
One day, a girl, Jennie was her name, passed the boundaries her parents had set for her due to her growing curiosity. Each day, she was forced to stay in a small piece of this dry, brown land her parents had bought, but she was finally fed up. From all the stories she had heard, Europe was a great place filled with many adventures, and she loved adventures. However, having adventures are hard to do when you’re confined to a small space.
She was amazed with the animals around her, as everywhere she looked, there was a new creature to be found. She ignored the calls of her mom, and instead continued onward through fields and fields of dry dirt.
This wasn't a safe idea. She knew that. However, she also knew that there wouldn't be many times in her life where she could go on adventures like this, so she pushed back the negative thoughts in her mind and continued onward until she could barely see her home.
The sky was now dark, the blackness taking over the familiar whiteness that signaled that it was day. At this point, she was cold, and desperate for shelter. However, she didn't want to go back, as she wanted to see what the world had in store for her.
"It's not too bad." she lied to herself, hoping it would convince her to keep going.
Jennie nodded excitedly. "I'd love that!"
"However, each and everyday, you will have to preform the same task for me, okay?"
"Sure."
"Alright then, follow me Jennie." the woman then said.
"How do you know my name?" she asked, however the woman didn't answer, so instead Jennie asked a different question. "What's your name?"
"Nothing important."
"Little girl, would you like some help?" a voice called behind her, which made her flinch. She slowly turned around, her heart racing. The voice was sudden, and she suspected that she would turn around to see a monster.
However, she was pleasantly surprised when she finally completed her dramatic, slow turn, as she saw the nice old woman standing before her.
She offered the woman a small smile. "Sure."
"Your parents don't let you go out too much, correct?" she asked, a smile finding its way on her face.
Jennie should have been suspicious, but instead, she found it cool how this woman who she just met, could know such an accurate fact. "Mhm. That's why I'm here. I want to explore."
"Do you wanna go home?"
She shook her head, and answered the woman honestly. "My home is boring."
A smirk then appeared on the woman's face. "Why don't you come with me then? If you go with me, you get to explore all you want."
"That's a weird name." she blurted, before a nervous smile quickly found its way to her face.
"No, 'Nothing Important' is not my name. I just don't want to tell you my name."
Jennie frowned. "Why not?"
"It's nothing that concerns you, JenJen."
She nodded, a little disappointment displayed in her eyes.
She followed the woman into the woods, listening to the chirps of the birds. She couldn't deny the fact that she was excited, as she loved the idea that everyday she could have a new experience or adventure. At the time, she thought this was the best choice she could have ever made.
She was wrong, however, as she quickly regretted the choice as soon as she spent a day with this woman. She thought that each day would get better, and that she needed to adjust to her new home, but she was wrong again.
