Back in the 1930s, a mad scientist by the name of Viktor Frankenstein, created a monster. Frankenstein's monster was out of control and ended up terrorizing a small European village. Eventually the villagers stood up to the monster and threw him into the lake. Dr. Frankenstein and his assistant Fritz were able to escape into the woods and were never heard from again.

Fast forward to 2010 where Dr. Frankenstein's great-grandson has continued his family's evil work. He planned to create a monster similar to the original creature to help him amass great power and wealth. Alongside his trusted associate Igor, the pair were able to recreate Viktor Frankenstein's creepy creation. Once again things did not go according to plan. The monster was reviled by the public at first but became a hero when he saved a little girl from drowning.

The monster was accepted by the humans as one of them. He adopted a pair of junior monsters that had escaped from Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. The people of the small town decided to name him Frank. His kids went by the names Boris and Karloff. They attended school with the rest of the children in their neighborhood while Frank worked as an accountant. Everything seemed to be going well for this odd but happy little family. They felt safe in the tiny community that had become their home.

2018

Boris and Karloff would walk to school everyday with their friends Claire and Percy.  Their walks to school were always filled with jokes and songs. Life was good for the Steiner children. But today felt different. There was a chill in the air. Things just didn't seem right. And that's because they weren't. Lurking in the bushes was Igor who had been searching for the runaway monsters for years. Finally he had found the elusive children. But what did he have in store for the Steiners?

FRANKENSTEIN INDUSTRIES LTD.

"GUH! GUH!" Igor shouted into his iPhone. "Take a deep breath and tell me again what you saw Igor." "GUH!" "You found the monster children? That is wonderful news. Where are they?" "GUH!" "Mockingbird Heights, California you say? Excellent! I shall concoct a plan to bring those monsters back to their rightful owner. Good work Igor!" "GUH!" "I will text you when it's time to reclaim my property."

At first many of the local children were scared of the Steiners but once they got to know them they all became good friends. It was their differences that brought actually brought them together. The kids were afraid of the Steiners because of how they looked. But deep down they were just a couple of kids who had a great deal in common with their human classmates. Soon they were able to win over all of their schoolmates and teachers with their kindness and gentle disposition.

"Sorry to bother you Frank but do you think you could move that filing cabinet for me?" "No problem Ms. Shelley." "You don't always have to be so polite. You can call me Mary. So, do you have any big plans after work?" "It's bowling night so me and some of the guys from the office, 'The Monster Mashers' are looking to stay in first place. "Oh, how wonderful! Um, are you okay Frank? You seem a little distracted." "My apologies. I thought I heard the sound of a helicopter hovering nearby."

When the bell rang at 3 o'clock, all of the kids were ready to end another day of school. The Steiners joined their pal Percy as they always did during their walk home. "Wow! I have so much homework!" Boris complained. "So do you guys want to come over after dinner and play video games?" Percy asked. "Guys? Where'd you go? Hmm, that's weird."

"Excellent work Igor" said a familiar voice. "Welcome home children" the man behind the voice announced as he emerged from the shadows. "Dr. Frankenstein!" "It's Mr. Frankenstein. I'm more of a businessman now and I see the two of you as investments. I created you both so I could control the next generation of scary monsters. With an army of creepy creatures doing my bidding, I'd become rich and powerful. But you had to ruin everything by running away. Igor?" "Guh!" "Get the equipment ready."

Worried about the disappearance of his friends, Percy ran as fast as he could to the Steiner's home. "Mr. Steiner! Mr. Steiner!" "What is it Percy?" "It's Boris and Karloff! I think they've been taken. We were walking home from school like we usually do and when I turned around they were gone. There was nobody else around us. Well except for that helicopter." "Did you say helicopter?" "Uh, yeah. Why?" "I think I know who stole my sons. Thanks Percy. I've got two little monsters to rescue."

Mr. Frankenstein glared at the Steiner children. "This may hurt a little but you need to be taught a lesson. I invested a lot of time and money into making you scary monsters. But all you wanted to do was play and make friends. You were a huge disappointment to me just like your father. You see, fear is power. When you make the public scared they let you do anything you want. And after I get you little brats fixed my plan for world domination will be back on track. And nobody can stop me!"
