Pierre Monceaux was small, but mighty. He didn’t let anything stop him, no matter the circumstance. Pierre knew it was dangerous for ants, because they were so much smaller than the humans. If he wanted to survive, he knew he had to be tough.

Pierre Monceaux era pequeño, pero poderoso. No dejaba que nada lo detuviera, sin importar las circunstancias. Pierre sabía que era peligroso para las hormigas durante este tiempo, porque eran mucho más pequeñas que los humanos. Si quería sobrevivir, sabía que tenía que ser fuerte.

Pierre grew up in Spain during the 1500s. He lost his family because of the mean and vicious Spaniards. His parents were kicked out of the ant colony because they didn’t listen to the rules. They were out in the real world alone and were carelessly stepped on. He had been alone ever since. Pierre had no desire to stay in Spain because he wanted to adventure to someplace new.

Pierre creció en Espa˜ña durante los 1500, durante la mayor parte de su vida. Perdió a su familia por culpa de los españoles malvados y crueles. Sus padres fueron expulsados de la colonia de hormigas porque no escuchaban las reglas. Estaban solos en el mundo real y fueron pisoteados sin cuidado. Había estado solo desde entonces. Pierre no tenía ningún deseo de quedarse en España porque quería aventurar a un lugar nuevo.

Pierre looked out in the distance and saw a great ship coming towards the dock. He knew, at that moment, that this was his one and only chance to get out of this terrible place. Pierre started running, dodging, and whooshing past everyone in the crowd.

Pierre miró a lo lejos y vio un gran barco que venía hacia él. Él sabía, en ese momento, que ésta era su única oportunidad de salir de este terrible lugar. Pierre empezó a correr, esquivando a todo el mundo en la multitud.

Where is Pierre? - ¿Dónde está Pierre?

He is on the dock. - Él está en el muelle.

He inched closer and closer, but the ship was slowly sailing away. Pierre quickly jumped at the last second. It looked as if he was flying in the air! He made a loud thump when he hit the deck.

Se acercó más y más, pero el barco estaba lentamente navegando lejos. Pierre saltó rápidamente en el último segundo. ¡Parecía como si estuviera volando en el aire! Hizo un fuerte golpe cuando llegó a la cubierta.

Where is Pierre? - ¿Dónde está Pierre?

He is on the dock. - Él está en el muelle.

Pierre thought deeply to himself and was worried. He was lost and had no clue where the ship was going to take him. “What did I just do?” he wondered.

Pierre pensó profundamente en sí mismo y estaba preocupado. Estaba perdido y no tenía ni idea de dónde lo iba a llevar el barco. "¿Qué acabo de hacer?", se preguntó.

Pierre ran his eyes over the ship. He made his way down to the bottom. It was tight and harder to breathe. But there were so many people stuffed in this area. There were groups of people coughing and it looked as if they were dead. There were mostly men - young and old, but some children too. There was also a variety of different animals, such as cows and pigs.

Pierre corrió los ojos sobre la nave. Hizo su camino hasta el fondo. Era apretado y más difícil de respirar. Había mucha gente metida en esta área. Había grupos de personas tosiendo y parecía como si estuvieran muertos. Había en su mayoría hombres jóvenes y viejos, pero algunos niños también. También había una variedad de animales diferentes, como vacas y cerdos.

Suddenly, Pierre heard a loud stomp of a shoe that nearly crushed him. Pierre quickly looked up and saw a man trying to step on him. Pierre began to run in different directions to avoid the scary man. In the distance, he heard a voice that sounded like his own. “Hurry, come this way! Follow my voice!” Pierre could recognize that voice anywhere. He knew it was a fellow ant.

De repente, Pierre oyó una fuerte pisada de un zapato que casi lo aplastó. Pierre rápidamente levantó la mirada y vio a un hombre tratando de pisarlo. Pierre comenzó a correr en diferentes direcciones para evitar el hombre aterrador. A lo lejos, oyó una voz que sonaba como la suya. "¡ Apúrate, ven por aquí! Sigue mi voz!" Pierre podía reconocer esa voz en cualquier lugar. Sabía que era una hormiga compañera.

Pierre burst in the direction of the other ant. He slipped through a slight hole and was safe for the time being. "Welcome," said a mysterious voice in the distance. Pierre looked up and saw another ant on top of some barrels.

"My name is Kenny, you're safe now."

Pierre estalló en la dirección de la otra hormiga. Se deslizó a través de un pequeño agujero y estaba a salvo por el momento. "Bienvenido", dijo una voz misteriosa en la distancia. Pierre miró hacia arriba y vio a otra hormiga en la parte superior de algunos barriles. "Mi nombre es Kenny, ahora estás a salvo."

"Hi, my name is Pierre. Who was that man trying to step on me?"

"Yes, that is the captain of this voyage. His name is Joãn Rodrigues Cabrilho" said Kenny, angrily.

“Who is that?” asked Pierre.

"He forced natives to convert to Catholicism and took away their land" said Kenny

"Hola, mi nombre es Pierre. ¿Quién era ese hombre tratando de pisarme? " 

"Sí, ese es el capitán de este viaje. Su nombre es Joãn Rodrigues Cabrilho ", dijo Kenny, enojado. 

"¿Quién es ese?", preguntó Pierre. 

"Obligó a los nativos a convertirse al catolicismo y tomó sus tierras", dijo Kenny.

”Yes he is a very bad person. He forced natives to move away from their land and then took everything they own. He also treated them like animals,” added Kenny anxiously.

"Sí, es una persona muy mala. Los ha obligado a alejarse de sus tierras y luego se ha llevado todo lo que poseen. Él también los trató como animales ", agregó Kenny ansiosamente.
