"June Gets Lost at the Zoo"
June is a little girl who loves presents and the zoo. June and her mom go to the zoo, and June gets lost. June searches the zoo to find her mom. Will she ever find her?

It was a beautiful summer day in Dallas, Texas. The adorable six year old June Smith and her mother were off to the zoo. June was a small girl with pretty red hair and big blue eyes. Her mother loved her with all her heart.

They arrived at the zoo. It was very exciting and overwhelming to little June. June begged her mom to buy her a special present the workers were selling to add to her collection. She pouted when her mom said they would get one later.

She saw the amazing penguins and puffins swimming around, and she ran through the crowd to get to them.

She turned around to show her mom, and her mom was gone. “MOM," June yelled. She searched the packed area for her tall mother.

She ran around the front of the zoo as fast as a cheetah and could not find her mom anywhere.

She was going to have to take a journey around the zoo to find her mom.

First, June headed towards the seals, her mom’s favorite animal. The graceful and dainty seals noticed June. June looked to them and said,
“Hello, Seals. Have you seen my mother? She looks like me and she is supposed to get me a gift.”

The Seals swam in close to June. They told her, “We have seen your mother. She was looking for you! I think she was heading towards the giraffes. We do not know anything about a present.”

June sprinted past the seals to the giraffe area. She approached the grandpa giraffe. June pleaded, “Mr. Giraffe, have you seen my mother? She said she was coming here to find me!”

The wise giraffe took off his glasses and shook his head. “June? You just missed her! She is looking all over for you. She’s very worried. She is heading towards the pandas.”

June ran away without thanking the giraffe. She needed to find her mom. By the time she got to the panda bears, no one was there.

She asked a chubby panda in a discouraged voice, “ Have you seen my mother? I have been all over the zoo looking for her.”
The panda frowned, “ A woman was here awhile ago. She didn't say where she was going, but she seemed very upset.”

June sat down at a table. She was never going to find her mom. She was so sad. Her eyes swelled with tears.

Then she headed into her favorite store at the zoo. She thought maybe looking at the toys would make her feel better.
