One day in the safari, Charlie the cheetah saw the lions playing. He wanted to play with the lions and asked to join them.

“Hey! Can I play with you guys?” asked Charlie. The lions looked at each other, then laughed.

“Why do you look like that? Sorry, but we don’t want to play with someone like you. You have spots on you, you look different!” said the lions.

Charlie replied, “Oh alright. . . have fun." The lions then continued to play as Charlie left sadly.

Later that day, a lion cub saw Charlie playing by himself. She approached Charlie out of curiosity.

“Hi! What are you doing? “ Layla the lion questioned.

Charlie replied, “Well I’m just trying to catch this butterfly, do you want to try?”

“Sure! Sounds like fun to me.” Layla replied excitedly.

Layla and Charlie then played together, trying to catch the butterfly.

The Lions saw how much fun Layla was having when she played with Charlie. So, they went to them to see what was up.

"Hey Layla, what are you doing with him?" asked the lions.

"We're trying to catch the butterfly, it's super fun!" Layla replied.

"Really? It looks fun and sounds fun, can we join?" the lions asked in return.

Charlie said, "Sure! The more the merrier, we can catch it faster too!"

The lions got excited, but then Layla stopped them and asked Charlie why. "Why would you let them join our fun? Didn't they not include you in their game?"

"I don't think it's fair that they get to have fun with us when you didn't get to play with them!" she claimed.

Charlie looked at the lions with their heads down, staring at the ground. They looked upset and sorry.

"I included them because I know how it feels when others don't let you in on something." Charlie replied.
