Since you were a baby you have had freedom of speech. This is what allows you to be any religion you want. You can always speak up and voice your opinion. As a citizen you have freedom of the press, assembly, and the right to petition. This grants Americans legal permission to organize groups to do things such as petitioning against something someone feels is wrong or unfair or impeach a government official.

First Amendment

As a US citizen you have the legal right to carry a fire arm. This is only for your protection and each person must receive a license to carry if they want to own a fire arm.

Second Amendment

Your home is your safe haven. The 3rd Amendment gives you the right of privacy. you do not have to house soldiers in your home.

Third Amendment

You have the right to your own privacy. The 4th Amendment protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures. If the police want to search a car, home, or any of your land they must have probable cause and a warrant. If incriminating evidence is found during a search the police are allowed to take it. This does not apply in places like school where your locker is owned by the school.

Fourth Amendment

This is the amendment that gives you the right to plead the 5th and not answer a question. The 5th Amendment states that no person has to answer questions without a lawyer. You also have the right to a grand jury, except when it involves a military branch. If you are arrested you must be read your Miranda rights. No double jeopardy is allowed after a case is already closed.

Fifth Amendment

The 6th Amendment states that as a citizen you have the right to a speedy and public trial. This is a guarantee that you will not be waiting a crazy long just to get to trial. As a citizen you have the right to have a public trial with family, reporters, etc. to observe and ensure fairness. You must be told the charges you face and why you are being accused. You are allowed to have a lawyer to represent yourself.
