Roxy is a Great Pyrenees dog.

She was our loyal friend for many years .

Roxy will tell the stories of all the adventures we had on our alpaca farm.

Welcome to my Alpaca Story.

My name is Roxy and I am a Great Pyrenese dog.

I live with my family

on an alpaca farm.

In this story I am going to tell you all about the alpacas, the llamas and my family.

I have a wonderful family that loves me very much. I have a job too.

I am a guard dog and I protect the animals on the farm.

                                            Let's get started.

This is DANARA and MR LUV

Mr Luv and Danara are Huacaya alpacas.

Their fleece is similar to sheep fleece.

It is VERY THICK and VERY SOFT.

Danara has silky white fleece and Mr Luv has thick golden brown fleece. Their fleece has won many  ribbons at the alpaca shows.

THIS IS GIZMO

A BABY ALPACA

Gizmo is two months old.

He is Mr Luv and Danaras CRIA.

A CRIA is the name for a baby alpaca.

Gizmo is a Huacaya alpaca and he

has super soft fleece. 

He loves to run in  the long grass and chase me.

Sometimes I have a really hard time catching up to him.  He is so FAST!

Oh, there are My Girls playing in the meadows.

These are My Girls.

Ashleigh and Stephanie.

My Girls enjoy living on the alpaca farm.

They help take care of all of the animals.

They also train the alpacas to walk on a halter and a lead.

Training the alpacas is very hard work.

They are training the alpacas for the big alpaca show.

This is Steve and Fran

Steve and Fran are my mom and dad.

They are My Girls mom and dad too.

My dad works very hard to keep the farm yard and barn very clean for the animals.

My mom takes care of all of us.

She feeds us everyday, she brushes us and makes sure our beds are warm for us at night.

THIS IS ALLY AND MAX

Ally and Max are our Llamas.

The llamas are cousins to the alpacas.

Ally and Max  live with the alpacas and they guard and protect them.

This is Ally in the field 

after her hair cut!

She is very tall and very friendly.

MY BDF ( BEST DOG FRIEND) BRANDY

Brandy is a border collie. Border Collies are very smart dogs. She can herd all the alpacas and llamas into the fields during the day and then when she is told, she brings the alpacas back into the barn each night.

Brandy is my BDF

(best dog friend). She works

very hard but she also loves

to play with me and the girls

when she is not working

THIS IS SERENA

THE SURI ALPACA

This is our alpaca Serena. She is a different kind of alpaca called a SURI alpaca.

Her fleece is very LONG, very SOFT and very CRIMPY.

When I first met Serena

I thought My Girls Ashleigh

and Stephanie braided her hair!

BUT

They explained to me that SURI alpaca's are born with twirly hair that only looks like it has been braided.
