Bo was a very cheerful and playful puppy who couldn’t walk since he was born because he had a paralysis in his hind legs. Amina, a little girl who saw him at birth, convinced her parents to take him home and take care of him to keep him from being sacrificed. Bo and her little owner Amina played a lot together. The little dog struggled to move using only his front legs and, since he could not jump and barely move, he barked to express everything he needed. Despite the difficulties, Bo was a happy dog who filled the house in which he lived with joy and optimism

One day Amina’s parents came home with Adela, a girl Amina’s age who was going to live with them for a while. When Bo saw her she crawled over to greet him and welcome him with her usual joy. But Adela looked at him with contempt and burst into tears. Bo didn’t give up and try to do all the nonsense he knew to make her laugh, but nothing worked and Adela wouldn’t stop crying. - Don’t worry, Bo- said Amina’s parents-. Adela is sad because she comes from a very poor country that is at war and has suffered a lot. He’s sad because he had to break up with his family. Bo seemed to understand what they were saying, because he approached Adela and stayed with her without barking or doing anything, just keeping her company

Adela’s sadness slowly flooded the house. Everyone was really worried about her, because they weren’t able to make her smile one bit. Days passed and Bo would not separate from Adela, and the girl would try to put him aside and flee to hide when she saw him and even protested when Bo tried to play with her. But the puppy wouldn’t give up. When Amina was there, Bo played with her while Adela watched and, although she didn’t smile, stopped crying when Bo fiddled and did his thanksgiving.

One day Amina wasn’t at Bo’s, she really wanted to play, and it occurred to her to try to get Adela to play with him. As the girl ignored him, Bo kept moving and suddenly hit a table so hard that a glass of milk fell on him. The glass didn’t break because it was plastic, but it soaked poor Bo full of milk and left him paralyzed with fright.

Adela, when she saw him, stared at the puppy without saying anything. Suddenly, he laughed, seeing how funny the little dog full of milk was with his scared face. When Bo saw Adela laughing, she began to lick her milk and do more foolishness while the girl, constantly laughing, tried to clean it with the tablecloth. When Amina and her saw what was laughing Adela was very happy, and ran to tell her parents. Everyone was finally happy again. Despite not being a puppy like the others, Bo was the only one able to bring joy and optimism back to that house
