Once there was a girl named Layla, who had moved to Australia from her home country, Syria. She wore a hijab and was very shy. She could speak very little English and found schoolwork extremely hard.

The first day Layla walked into school, people started spreading rumors about her. Day after day, the rumors got worse. She was known as "The Terrorist".

Layla heard what people said and ran home crying every day. Her mother told her, "Sweetheart, don't listen to them. They don't know what they're talking about." Although Layla knew her mother was trying to be supportive, the rumors still got to her.
