I am a daughter
I wonder how my parents are doing on the inside
I hear them talk about how proud they are of me
I see their contagious smiles
I want a closer relationship
I am a sister to three
I feel lucky to have my three siblings
I feel sad without my sister here
I worry that one day that all of this will be taken away from me
I cry knowing I haven't seen my sister in like a decade although its only been two years
I am strong
I understand the hardships my parents go through knowing its not their fault
I say “It will be ok” and “I love you” in my head
I dream that one day everything will get better like the olden days
I try to keep my siblings distracted from everything toxic around them
I hope my sister will come home one day

I Am Poem: I Love You
I Am Poem: I Love You
My I am poem "I love you" is based on my family life and how we have been through a lot of hardships. Some of those include losing our house which led to homelessness, and my sister going away to Germany two years ago. I used the phrase "contagious smiles" as a metaphor to show how my parents always have a smile that keep me and my siblings smiling too. The phrase "in like a decade although it's only been two years" was a hyperbole. I wanted the reader to know what it felt like without seeing my sister when in reality it has only been two years. The purpose of this poem was to show that what has happened in my life was not my parents fault and that not everything is temporary, I will see my sister again one day.

Bio Poem: Lauren Spear
My bio poem "Lauren Spear" is certain things about me. Hyperbole was used in the phrase "thousands of spiders". I exaggerated the amount of spiders I am scared of when it can just be one. I also used imagery in the phrase "Paris, and the Bahamas". I wanted the reader to picture those places as they read it. The purpose of this poem was for the reader to get to know a little about me.

Bio Poem: Lauren Spear

Who feels motivated to do well, loved by many, and thankful to be a U.S citizen
Who needs more makeup, a modeling opportunity, and a pet lamb
Who gives loyalty to her boyfriend, family, and friendships
Who fears thousands of spiders, being drowned, and crowded places
Who would like to see her sister, Paris, and the Bahamas

Re-Creation Poem: The fierce flames
The dog barked as if its body had been taken over
As the sound of burning filled my ears
The house had been in flames as high as the sky
The fog from outside had put me in a maze
My hands were as cold as a blizzard wind
As my gloves came to my rescue
My car was not so much to rescue me
As the horrifying screams filled the streets
A smile filled my face
I knew I would see Night and day again
Re-Creation Poem: The fierce flames
My re-creation poem "The fierce flames" is about a house that caught on fire with a dog and human in the house. I used "as high as the sky" as a simile comparing the flames rising to the sky. I also used another simile "as cold as a blizzard wind" which compared my hands being cold to a blizzard wind. I used imagery for "horrifying screams filled the streets" to make the reader picture what it would look and hear like. I based it on a house catching on fire because I thought it would create a setting in the readers head while reading it with the imagery.

Stylistic Imitation Poem: The day Iv'e been waiting for
My Imitation poem "The day I've been waiting for" is about my surgery I got on my ear. I used the phrase "whiff of a chemical smell" to create imagery, so the reader can imagine a hospital smell. I also used the phrase "felt as if I was a famous person being interviewed" as a simile. It was comparing the nurses talking to me a lot to a famous person always being interviewed. Repetition was used as I repeated "at nine in the morning". I wrote this to give a little information about my life.

Stylistic Imitation Poem: The day Iv'e been waiting for
At nine in the morning
It was precisely nine in the morning
The day my surgery was planned
at nine in the morning
As I entered the hospital
at nine in the morning
I got a whiff of a chemical smell
at nine in the morning
Many doctors and nurses talked to me
at nine in the morning
It felt as if I was a famous person being interviewed
at nine in the morning
The time had come
at nine in the morning
A mask covered my nose and mouth
at nine in the morning
It smelled as if I was in a garden of strawberries
at nine in the morning
I was soon out like a light
at nine in the morning
Imitation of Federico Garcia Lorca's style in his poem "Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias."
Definition Poem: Beauty within the world
Gorgeous : (gor-geous), adjective
beautiful; very attractive
When the sky looks like cotton candy
As if someone has painted it
A pure laugh from deep inside you
When you come across vines of jasmine
And the smell fills your lungs
Finding true love
When you thought never in a million years you would
When a stranger goes out of their way to compliment you
Definition Poem: Beauty within the world
My definition poem, "Beauty within the world", is based on things in the world that are gorgeous. I used hyperbole with the phrase "never in a million years". This was suppose to exaggerate the amount of years you thought you wouldn't find true love. I also used imagery and a simile in the phrase "when the sky looks like cotton candy as if someone has painted it". The purpose of this poem was to pick a word and write things that apply to it. I picked gorgeous because I wanted to show the reader their is many things in life that are beautiful.

Limerick Poem: In May
My limerick poem, "In May", is about a girl who is afraid of the month May because of things that have happened. I used rhyming with the words light, right, and fright. I also used it with the words day and May. I wrote about this because these were easy rhyming words for me to do. I also thought this plot was okay to do.

Limerick Poem: In May
A lady once got hit with light
Although she felt it was right
It was day
But in may
She then remembered May gave her a fright
Ode poem: My lover
Oh William
You are so loving at all times
And always seem to have a smile on your face
That could light up the room
Always comforting me on my darkest days
Taking all the pain away
With your hugs and kisses
You are one of a kind
My one
My only
