Honestly, I don't know. I think I'm a good person, but...I don't know if that's enough to get me to heaven.

We would like to share with you the road to salvation and how to receive God's gift of eternal life. Do you have a few minutes?

Yes, I do believe in the Bible.

Okay. This is what the Bible said in Romans 3:10, "There is none righteous, no not one;" and Romans 3:23, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Do you believe in the Bible as the word of God?

Okay. I know I have sinned. I have broken the Ten Commandments.

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20): 1. No other gods but God of the Bible. 2. No bowing to graven images. 3. Don't use God's name in vain. 4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. 5. Honor father and mother. 6. No killing/murdering. 7. No adultery. 8. No stealing. 9. No lying or false accusing. 10. No coveting/desiring things that are not yours.

The bible said ALL have sinned. There's no one that doesn't sin. There's no one that always do right. No one is righteous. Every one commits sin. Every one has broken God's commandments. Jesus said that there is no one good but God only. We are sinners.The first step to salvation is to acknowledge we are sinners and we are not good enough to enter heaven.

The second thing you need to know is that sin has a consequence, a penalty, or punishment. Just like when you break the law of this land, you get arrested and punished and serve time. Sin is breaking God's laws and commandments. The Bible said in Romans 6:23 that "the wages of sin is death." People die because of sin. The Bible said in Hebrews 9:27 that "it is appointed unto man to die once, after this is the judgment." Death came into the world through sin.

Not only that but the penalty or punishment of sin is physical death, the destruction of our physical body. Then after that our soul is cast into hell. Then after that it is cast in the lake of fire which is called the second death. Jesus said in Matthew 10:28, "Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

God is love and merciful, but He is also holy and haters of iniquity. God's not kidding when He says He cast sinners who are not found written in the book of life into the lake of fire. He punishes all sins and all of us sin and we deserve death, hell and lake of fire. No sin or sinners can enter heaven. But there's good news!

The Bible also said in Revelation 20:14-15, "And death and hell was cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

What's the good news?

It better be good.

The good news is Jesus Christ paid for all our sins. The Bible said in 1 Timothy 1:15 "that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." Romans 5:8 says "For God commended His love towards us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Jesus Christ is in the beginning was the Word, who was with God and was God, who became man, flesh and blood, born of a virgin, and lived a perfect sinless life. He was the only one who ever lived and walked on earth who was without sin. He taught people the kingdom of God and the way to heaven. He healed the sick and done many wonderful works and miracles. But the people rejected Him. They delivered Him to be punished with death by crucifixion. Jesus willingly gave up His life to pay for the sins of the world including yours and mine. He paid for the penalty and punishment for our sins. He died, was buried for 3 days and 3 nights. On the third day He rose again from the dead.

What must I do to be saved and forgiven of my sins?

The Bible tells us what must we do to be saved. It says in Acts 16:31, "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved."

Jesus Christ died for sinners like us so we don't have to die to pay for the punishment for our sins and be cast into hell. But just because Jesus died for the sins of the world doesn't mean we, or people are automatic saved and forgiven from their sins.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever BELIEVES on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:36 says, "He that believes on the Son has everlasting life; he that does not believe the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him." So, to be saved from the wrath of God, you must believe on the Son of God, Jesus, who died, was buried and rose again from the dead. That's the gospel, the power of God to save those who believe.
