Dedicated to Ms. Donley and her 1st period chemistry class.

Today was the day that Carrie and her classmates would get to do a science experiment! She was so excited that she jumped right in without even listening to the teacher's instructions. While all of her friends were making sure they had the proper lab safety, Carrie had already begun.
"Carrie!" her teacher exclaimed. "You aren't wearing your lab safety gear!" " I don't even need that stuff," Carrie whined. She had forgotten all of her safety gear because she was too excited to start the experiment! "Let me explain," the teacher said. "Lab safety is always necessary and here's why..."

"Long hair should always be pulled back during an experiment. This is because your hair can fall into things like fire or chemicals, which can be very dangerous."
"Okay fine," Carrie says. "I guess I should put my hair up... Can I start the experiment now?" "Not so fast! There are still many more things for you to do! Your clothes are all wrong for an experiment," said the teacher. Carrie went to the bathroom and put on a long sleeved shirt and long pants. "It's too hot for this," Carrie complained, "Why does this even matter?"

"It is important to have the correct clothes while performing a science experiment! Short sleeves, short pant legs, and open toed shoes allow for skin to be exposed to harm during the lab. Since some substances could cause blindness, it is important to always wear safety goggles during the experiment."

Now that Carrie was finally ready to do the experiment she went over to her lab station. Carrie's teacher instructed the class to each take a beaker that was filled with a "mystery liquid." Their challenge was to identify what was inside the beaker. Carrie grabbed a beaker and ran back to her station.
CRASH!!!! Carrie's beaker slipped out of her hand and onto the floor! "Oh no," Carrie thought, "What am I going to do?!" "Oh well, I'll just leave it there and go get another one," she decided. When she came back, her teacher was standing over the mess.
