Ahmed awoke one morningexcited to go to school. He
loved learning and always
tried to learn as much as he could.

He happily walked to the kitchen, excited to get his day started. But when he made it to the kitchen he found something that
made him very sad. There was no food, only one loaf of
bread. This meant that Ahmed wouldn't be able to go to school,
he would have to work instead.

Ahmed spent all day working in the hot sun. He had to collect
rocks no matter how tired he was. He didn't like this job at all and
he always thought about his dreams of being a doctor as he worked.

There was one doctor in the village that Ahmed really looked up to.
His name was Dr. Abdul and he always told Ahmed that one day he
could be a doctor too. That night, Ahmed was really upset that he
wasn't able to go to school everyday so he decided that he would go see
Dr. Abdul the next morning.

The next morning, Ahmed found Dr. Abdul helping someone in
the town. Ahmed was scared to disturb the doctor when he was
working so he hid and watched.

After a few minutes, Dr. Abdul was finished with his work and
continued on. Ahmed had enjoyed watching the doctor's work so
much that he decided to tag along but Dr. Abdul didn't notice.

As Dr. Abdul was walking, a lady stopped him and asked if
he could quickly take a look to see if she was sick because
she hadn't been feeling well.

After a quick check-up, Dr. Abdul told the nice lady that she had a
cold and then told her to come by his office later to pick up some
medicine. Seeing all of these nice things that the doctor did made
Ahmed want to be like Dr. Abdul even more.

After helping the woman, as he was walking away, Dr.
Abdul spotted Ahmed. "Ahmed," he shouted "What are
you doing there!" Ahmed then explained what he had been
doing all day and told the doctor why he had came to see
him.

Dr. Abdul scolded Ahmed for sneaking around town alone but
after hearing Ahmed's reason he decided that it was okay. He
even offered to let Ahmed help him the rest of the afternoon.
Ahmed had never been so happy.
