Once upon a time, in a far away land, there lived a king and a queen. They had everything they ever wanted except a child and this made them sad. The queen would wish upon a star everyday for a child and then one day, their wish was granted. The queen delivered a very beautiful baby girl.

The king announced the arrival of their baby girl. "My wife, your queen has delivered a bouncy baby girl. She shall be named Aurora" said the king. Princess Aurora was indeed very beautiful for she had a very long blonde and shiny hair with deep blue eyes. The entire kingdom was happy with the news and shouted "Hurray!! Princess Aurora!!!"

Soon, it was Princess Aurora's 1st birthday. Her parents planned a very big and fancy party, They invited the entire kingdom including all the fairies except the black fairy. "She is bad and mean. I can't let her ruin our daughter's first birthday party" said the king. The party started and everyone was happy. It was time for the king to give his speech when all of the sudden, a green smoke from no where enveloped the entire ball room. After the smoke disappeared, the black fairy appeared. Everyone was scared and astonished.

"How dare you invite everyone to your daughter's birthday party except me? And you know how much I hate not being invited to parties" asked the black fairy. "Why are you here?" answered the king. But the black fairy totally ignored the king and said "Now you will pay the consequences of your actions. On your daughter's 16th birthday, she shall touch a sharp needle and shall fall and die." At the pronouncement of her curse, everyone in the hall was surprised including the king and queen. After this, the black fairy again with a green smoke disappeared with her loud evil laughter.

Now it was time for the good fairies to give their own blessings. The first one flew over to the baby princess and said; "I cannot reverse the black fairy's curse, but I will help. The princess shall not die when she touches the needle. She will fall into a deep sleep and be woken up by a true love's kiss."

The second fairy then also flew to the baby princess to give her own blessings. "On this day, I fairy godmother Floral give you the gift of beauty. You shall be very beautiful beyond all measures" said the fairy.

Finally, it was the third fairy's turn. She also did the same. "As you will be beautiful beyond measures, so shall you have the most beautiful voice in the entire kingdom. I, fairy godmother Fauna give you the gift of song" said the last fairy.

It's been 15 years since the birthday celebration and Princess Aurora has turned 16. She has grown into a very beautiful teenage princess protected by her three godmothers. One day as she was walking down the hall to her bedroom, she saw a very bright light shining from the direction to her room. Princess Aurora with her curiosity decided to follow the direction from which the light was coming from. It led to her bedroom and in there she found a door leading to a secret room. She was surprised for the door has never been there before so she opened it.

In the secret room she found an old lady spinning gold. Princess Aurora was drawn to the spinning wheels and she mistakenly touched the sharp needle and she fell into a deep sleep at once. It was the black fairy who had disguised into the old lady. "The time has come for the curse to be enacted" said the black fairy as she disappeared in a green smoke with an evil laughter. She was dressed in the most beautiful gown and laid on the most beautiful and softest bed.
