It all starts with the sperm. Sperm is produced in the testis. The testis is attached and next to the epididymis, which is where sperm is stored and matured. Mature sperm is then transported by the vas deferens to the seminal vesicle. The seminal vesicle has fluids that will mix with the fluids

from the prostate gland. These fluids nourish and protect the sperm. From here the sperm are able to travel down and out the urethra during ejaculation.

When sperm is ejaculated during sex they travel through the vagina first, then the cervix and uterus. Then they travel through the fallopian tubes, where they can actually reach the ova, also known as the eggs. Only a single sperm can fertilize the ovum so the first sperm to get to the ovum will be the one to fertilize the ovum.
