Hello there! Nice to meet you. I'm Pika and I'm 11. I don't feel like I'm old but my family thinks so.

I live high in the mountains of Colorado, USA. My human family calls that place Granby. They say it is a small town near the Winter Park Ski Resort. I really like this place. It is cold most of the time . There are not many cars here but there are a lot of animals.

This is our wooden house. There is a big garden around the house. There is a pine forest next to the house. There aren't any neighbours close to our house but I am not lonely.

I live with the best four humans in the world.

Bianka is 12 . She is very smart and helpful. She often takes me for long walks in the forest. I'm always ready to protect her because there are lots of wild animals where we live. There are moose, coyotes and bears. My job is to keep her safe.

Damian is Bianka's brother. He is 8. He is an unusual boy. He likes to snowboard at the Winter Park Ski Resort. He is also keen on downhill mountain biking. It is dangerous and I don't like it. I can't keep him safe there. He has two cats, Luca and Lota and they sleep in his room. I'm not happy about it.

Damian has also got a goat . His name is John and he is very bossy.

Diane is 41 and she is a receptionist at the Winter Park Ski Resort. Emil is 45 and he is a hotel manager. Both of them are very nice and let me sleep inside their house. They think I'm a very brave and useful dog. I always bark when I hear or smell something strange near our home.

My favourite room in the house is where my doggy carpet is. It is in front of the fireplace. My human friends often sit there and watch TV.

Emil usually sits in his sofa and reads his papers.

Diane usually drinks her herbal tea there.

There are many rooms in our house. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a study and a pantry. They don't let me stay alone in the room with goodies. I don't know why. There are cans of food there, some cheese, fruit, flour, milk and sausages. Do you know the name of that room?
