One day, Chloe was sitting in her den with her puppy, Tucker. Chloe absolutely loved Tucker, they were a great pair. Chloe then got a phone call from her mom. She answered the phone "Hello?" said Chloe. "Hello dear, I have a big surprise for you when I get home" Said Chloe's mom. Chloe was excited

Chloe was so curious as to what this surprise could be. It was not her birthday and Christmas wasn't for another 3 months. Chloe was pacing back and forth talking to her trusty sidekick Tucker. "Oh Tucker what could this possibly be" asked Chloe.

Chloe's mom arrives home and tells Chloe to meet her in the backyard. Chloe goes outside to greet her mom and sees a big pink box. "Whats in there" Chloe asked with excitement. "Open it honey" said Chloe's mom.

"A cat?" Asked Chloe in confusion. "Yes a cat" said Chloe's mom, "I thought it would be a nice addition to the family". Chloe looked very confused. All she could think about was how Tucker and the kitten would get along. She was worried.

They take the kitten inside for a bowl of milk. Chloe's mom noticed that Chloe was not as excited as she thought she would be. "Whats wrong honey, dont you love the new cat?". "I'm nervous about Tucker. I dont want my pets to fight or get hurt" Said Chloe. Chloe's mom hugs her, "Chloe dont worry, we just have to let them get comfortable. Here lets go find Tucker."

They find Tucker sitting on his favorite step. Before saying anything, the cat walks up to Tucker and starts to rub her fur against him and starts to purr. Tucker starts to wag his tail and licks the kitten. "See Chloe, animals just need time to warm up to each other" said Chloe's mom. Chloe was so relieved and happy. "This is great" said Chloe.

Chloe understood that she just needed to let the animals warm up to each other. She was so happy now that Tucker had a new friend. "Lets name her smokey" said Chloe. "Sounds great darling" said Chloe's mom.
