I dedicate this book to my english class and especially Clara and bravepony629

I leaned up against the frigid window, my lips chapped from the December cold. I looked paler than a ghost, it was the first cold day of the year. The window fogged up as I took a deep breath in. I moved away from the window as a shiver went up my spine.
I heard a buzz coming from the kitchen. I stood up suddenly which nearly made me fall over. I slide to counter where my phone laid.
I picked up my phone.
“Hello?” I muttered into the phone.
“Saint!”
“Hello?” I said in a more confused and clear tone.
“My girlfriend broke up with me~.” he whined.
“Kristoph?” I was more confused now.
“I can’t believe this happened!”
"What happened? I'm confused!" I yelled sharply.

Something fell over in the background. There were just a bunch of mumbled words afterwards. I couldn’t understand a word he was saying, I let him take his time to calm down.
“What happened?” I asked.
“My girlfriend broke up with me!” he replied.
The phone fell silent.
“I’m coming over.”
“Really Saint?”
“I’m coming over” I reassured him.
“You don’t need to-”
“I’ll call you when I’m at the Yatzi Garage.”
“Okay, see you then..” His voice trailed off with sniffles.
I got my bag ready.I leaned against my wall to get my shoes on almost slipping on the wood flooring.

I called up a Ruber to pick me up. I waited out in the snow, which the frosty air dried out my throat and plugged up my nose. A black Honda Civic rolled up in front of me.
I peeked through the window to see who was driving. A brown haired man with dark circles around his eyes who looked half asleep was at the steering wheel. I scrolled through my phone screen just to make sure that it was him.

I slide into the back seat which almost made me hit my head on the door frame.
I peeked through the window to see who was driving. A brown haired man with dark circles around his eyes who looked half asleep was at the steering wheel. I scrolled through my phone screen just to make sure that it was him.

“So where ya’ heading to bud?” the driver asked.
“Up to the Yasti Garage” I stated.
“Sorry bud, can’t take you up there.”
“Why?” I questioned.
“We can only stay in the city limits, I can take you up to the second turn off and then that’s it.”
I leaned forward curiously.
“What happened that you can’t take me up there?”
He looked hesitant, he stopped cautiously at a red light, waiting for it to go green.
“A bunch of the drivers have been mysteriously going missing up there, the company can’t take anymore disappearances, so we’re not allowed to go out that far.” His Irish accent thick, which made a bit of spit drop from his lips onto his lap.
He started the car again which made me fall back in my seat. I heard a click come from my seat belt because it accidentally unbuckled. As I put my seat belt in we came to a halt.
“This is as far as I can go bud, I can take you back if you want.” He proposed.
“Nah it’s okay, my friend can just pick me up”.
I stepped out of the car. I stuttered to the front seats window. The window rolled down, I leaned inwards because I was going to pay him.

“No need bud, last guy payed a bit over”
“Really?”
“It’s the least I can do, you’re gonna have a tough time getting a ride up to your friends place.”
“Thanks a lot!”
The car drove off, leaving a trail behind. I stared off into the distance looking at the tiny lights of the town. I can’t believe my bestfriend's girlfriend broke up with him, after all the stuff they’ve been through, after all he gave up for her. That thought shot across my mind.
I reached into my pocket to grab my phone.
Where’s my phone? I had a mini panic attack, I patted myself all over to try and find my phone, nothing. Did I leave it in the car? I looked in my bag, all I could find was my wallet, keys, a flashlight and a water bottle.
I started to think I was going to be stuck out here walking home in the cold. As that thought went through my mind, a car was coming up the icy road. It was an old rusted mini van with dents all over.
