It was a normal Friday afternoon at the Foxes'
house in Louisville, Colorado.
Mommy and Daddy were both home from work and
Beth had left for the day. Maya was playing with
worms. Eli was stapling paper. Sadie was climbing
on the counter. Jonah was taking a nap.
Everyone was very excited because that night
they were going to see a movie at Louisville
Elementary School.

That evening, Maya, Eli, Sadie, and Jonah left the
house and began the walk to LES for movie night.
As they turned from the cul-de-sac onto Lilac
Circle, they saw something very strange.
"Look, a penguin!" Eli exclaimed.
Sure enough, a penguin was waddling down the road
toward them.

The Foxes were a bit worried. They walked up to
the penguin.
"Are you lost?" asked Maya. "Don't you belong in
Antarctica?"
The penguin shrugged his wings. "My family just
moved here to Louisville. I don't have any friends
here."
Maya answered, "You will come with us to movie
night!"

So Maya, Eli, Sadie, Jonah, and a penguin all
headed towards Louisville Elementary School.
As they waited to cross Bella Vista Drive, they saw
something very strange.
"Look! A monkey!" Sadie exclaimed.
Sure enough, a silly monkey was perched on the
fence across the street.

The Foxes were a bit worried. They walked up to
the monkey.
"Are you lost?" asked Eli. "Don't you belong in the
jungle?"
The monkey scratched his head. "My family just
moved to Louisville. I don't have anyone to play
with."
Eli answered, "You will come with us to movie
night!"

So Maya, Eli, Sadie, Jonah, a penguin, and a monkey all
headed towards Louisville Elementary School.
As they continued along Hoover Avenue they saw
something very strange.
"Pig!" Jonah exclaimed.
The others looked at each other in surprise. It was
Jonah's first word!
Sure enough, a pink pig was walking down the street
towards them.

The Foxes were a bit worried. They walked up to
the pig.
"Are you lost?" asked Sadie. "Don't you belong on
a farm?"
The pig scrunched her snout. "My family just
moved to Louisville. I don't know anyone here
yet."
Sadie answered, "You will come with us to movie
night!"

So Maya, Eli, Sadie, Jonah, a penguin, a monkey,
and a pig all headed towards Louisville Elementary
School.
As they turned onto the bike path they saw
something very strange.
"Look, a giraffe!" exclaimed Maya.
Sure enough, in front of them a tall giraffe stood
grazing on the leaves of the trees.
