Away in a drawer, lived a little sock world.

This drawer held a community of plain, white socks!

All the socks in this drawer had a routine.

During the day, they would wait to see who would be worn and when night came, they all folded themselves up again.

One day, just like any other, everything changed for the sock drawer.

A new bundle of brightly coloured socks landed in the drawer!

All of the plain socks were amazed by their brightness. They couldn't help but stare!

The bright socks were so excited about their new home that they decided to celebrate by jumping around the drawer!

Taylor, one of the newer plain socks in the drawer, was so excited to see the bright socks!

Taylor shouted

"Wow! I LOVE ALL OF YOUR

PRETTY

COLOURS!"

One of the bright socks, named Bailey, heard Taylor and said

"Thank you! You should come and jump with us!"

Taylor accepted Bailey's invitation and soon, some other plain socks joined in to enjoy the fun as well!

Most of the plain socks were enjoying jumping around with the new, bright socks, but...

Morgan,

one of the oldest socks in the drawer,

did not like how the new socks were acting.

Morgan liked the routine they had in the drawer and was scared that these new, bright socks were going to change everything.

Morgan yelled at the plain socks to stop acting so different because that's not how they behave in their drawer.

"These new socks are dangerous! They could ruin our routine! We must push them to the back of the drawer until they learn to be more plain, or else they might get worn more than we do!"

The socks were all confused by this...

Especially Taylor, who decided to ask Morgan "Why would they do that to us?"

Morgan looked at the bright socks and said

"It's not their fault that they act that way, it's just how they were dyed! We just need to teach them how to be plain so they don't change our drawer with their brightness."

The plain socks looked at the bright socks.

Some were confused, others were scared, and there were even some that were angry!

The bright socks didn't understand what they did wrong. They were only acting the way they knew how.

Morgan got some of the plain socks to watch the bright socks and start teaching them the plain ways.

Since the plain socks were so scared that their routines would be changed and they wouldn't be worn any more, they were willing to change the bright socks.

As time passed, most of the plain socks forgot about the bright socks, thinking they were being taken care of and fixed as they were taught how to fold and wait just like the plain socks did.

However, there was one sock who couldn't forget.
