“Mommy we're going out to play at the park!” Safia exclaimed as she opened the door.

We raced down the apartment stairs only to be greeted by a second flight of stairs as soon as we exited the door leading to the great unknown

We opened the dark oak wood door as it angrily groaned at our touch, and as we left, a nice blast of warm air blanketed the two of us.

The once cool pavement was now hot against our feet, leaving us racing across the street to get to the empty park. 

Like, always Safia hogged the ball and wouldn’t let me have a turn.

“Safia, I want to play! I’m going to tell mommy!” I cried as I tried to take the ball as she taunted it. It was out of reach.

“Fine, let me just see how high I can throw it.” My sister hurdled the ball in the air with a HARUMPH, not knowing the creatures lurking all around.

We stared in amaze as the soccer ball flew gently in the air and stopped for a breath only to fall down to earth.

Then movement caught my eye. 

“A dragon fly! No wait there are two, wait seven!” I shouted

But as soon as I turned to the direction of the park, my eyes finally opened. Seven was nowhere near as many as there were.

It was a dragon fly infestation! There had to be at least 100 of them, on the slides and in the tunnel, sitting on the swings and soaring to the sky. 

Just when I was about to tell Safia, to my horror, she already knew.

“Wait stop!” I yelled but it was already too late, she chucked the soccer ball at a few of them that were flying together as they ran and dispersed away from each other.

Safia laughed sinisterly as they flew away. But they weren’t flying away, they were regrouping, turning into an army of them.
