Introduction

Harper McNally met her favorite super hero of all time, Mako Man. She went on many adventures with Mako Man, and battled Mr. Runner. This is a life changing event for Harper. She'll never be the same.

The Meeting

Harper’s mom yelled to Harper that her breakfast is almost done, she always let her own breakfast get cold.“I was looking at my comics, though!” Harper said as she was walking down the stairs. Harper walked to the sliding door and saw two giant birds flying. “Whoa, look at those giant birds, I’m going to check them out.” When Harper went outside, she suddenly realized that those weren’t birds. “Mako Man, I’m a huge fan of yours,” Harper yelled. Mako man looked to his left and saw Harper.  

The Secret

Mako Man came down and said, “Hide me, and I’ll explain what's going on at different time.” Harper instantly slammed the sliding door open, and peeked in to see if her mom was still getting breakfast ready.“Mom can you go get binoculars from the pantry and leave it by the sliding door,” yelled Harper lying from outside. “Uhhh, why can’t you do that.” “I need to go to the swingset to get a better view right now, Mom” said Harper lying.  

“Fine, but have to promise that you’ll eat this wonderful breakfast I’m making you,” Mom said as she was walking away. “Okay,” yelled Harper to her mom. They snuck to Harper’s room to plan a hiding spot. 

The Fort

“So, Mako Man the safest place is in the basement.” “Umm, I’m kind of afraid of spiders and the dark.”  “I can build you a secret fort then.” “Well, we still have to get in the basement,” said Mako Man. “Well then let’s get going,” said Harper. Harper lead Mako Man to the basement. “Stay here and I’ll go get the materials for the fort,” said Harper. Harper walked around and found duct tape, Christmas lights, a car battery, scissors, pillows, blankets, and comic books.

Harper knew that there's tons of cardboard boxes in the basement already. When Harper came back with all the materials, Mako man got into Harper’s art set, and drew a blueprint for the fort. “Whoa, this is going to be big,” said Harper. “Well then let's start building.” As Mako man and Harper built the walls they heard yelling upstairs.

“What’s that yelling upstairs,” asked Mako man. Harper shrugged. “Let’s check it out when we’re done,” said Harper. They continued to build the fort, and finished the exterior. They set up a bed for Mako man out of cardboard, they hung Christmas lights powered by a car battery, and a table to read comic books.

The Sit Down

“Well, we completed the fort,” said Mako Man “Can you please explain what’s going on here,” said Harper. “Yes, I will, Now that I think about it, asking you to hide me is sudden and odd.” “I think that we should talk in the fort,” said Harper. “Good Idea.” Mako man and

Harper sat down at the comic table, that they built inside the fort. “Okay, So, my arch enemy was chasing me, Mr Runner, with a golden gaff.” “I don’t usually tell people this, but with even a tap of golden gaff I could die.” “Now, I explained myself, but how did you know who I was.” “I’m a huge fan, I’ve read all 154 comics, and I’ve watched all 24 of your movies,” said Harper. “Wow, that’s impressive.”

The Love Fight 

“Stay here, and read some comics, I’ll go see what that yelling was about,” said Harper. As Harper walked upstairs she heard sobbing from the upstairs bathroom. She walked to the bathroom. “Mom, is that you,” asked Harper from the door. “Yes, Honey, I need to talk to you.”

“Okay,” said Harper as she walked through the bathroom door. “Your Dad came home from work, and he’s leaving us.”  Harper stormed away. She went back the basement, and sat on the steps. She pounded the wall as hard as she could, while crying. “Hello? is that you, Harper?” asked Mako man from inside the fort. “Yes, I’ll talk to you once I compose myself,” Harper said while crying her eyes out. Harper sat on the steps all night crying. Mom walked all over the house, and yelled

“Sweetie, where are you?” But, as soon as Mom walked by the basement door she heard sniffling. “Harper, are you in the basement again,” Mom said while opening the door. “Ahh Hah, found you.” Harper’s Mom went down the stairs, and sat on the steps right next to Harper. “Maybe we’re better off without Dad, he was a jerk to us, he left for a job raise” said Mom. “Maybe you’re right, he is really selfish.”

Mom’s Suspicion

“Hey what’s all the boxes duct taped together over there,” Mom asked Harper. “Ohh, Ummm, That’s my secret fort.” “Okay, can I look inside, Harper,” asked Mom.

“Umm, I’d prefer you not.” “You know, you’ve been acting really weird ever since you saw those birds.” “I guess I have, but Dad left us, so did you ever think that it’s that,” asked Harper. “True, but can I look inside your fort?” Harper decided that she’d let Mom look inside, even know that Mako Mans inside.

She did that because she remembered that Mako Man can turn invisible from Chaos Comic Mako Man Number 82. Harper showed Mom the fort, Mom sat down on one of the chairs at the table. Harper tried to sit down on one of the other chairs, but when Harper tried to sit down there was something hard in the chair, but the chair was empty. Harper then realized that Mako Man was sitting there invisible. “Honey, why won’t you sit down?”

“Uhhhh, it’s better for my back posture, Mom.” Harper has never cared about her back posture, and Mom picked onto that. “We, I mean I, I have a bed, lights, and a comic table,” said Harper.”Cool, this is one of your best forts yet,” said Mom “Well, I have to get the dishes done,” said Mom. “Okay, bye,”  Harper said to Mom, while Mom was walking upstairs.

The Sidekick 

Harper signaled to Mako Man that Mom was gone. But, the first thing Mako Man did when he became visible again was he said “Umm, I kinda forgot to tell you that Mr. Runner is tracking me down, with that golden gaff,” said Mako Man. “Ohh, is there anything I can do, other than hiding you,” said Harper. Mako Man came up with a great idea, and suggested it to Harper. “Wait, You want me to be your sidekick, that protects you,” said Harper. “Yeah, I’ll train you good, real good,” said Mako Man.

Mako Man convinced Harper to be his sidekick. “Okay, We’ll start training tomorrow,” said Mako Man. “Harper, Can you do me a favor, and come up with your superhero name, if you can’t fall asleep,” said Mako Man. “Sure,” Harper said. Mako Man tucked himself into his bed, Harper walked upstairs, got herself a cup of lemonade, and went to her room. She walked to her chair and sat down, she got a Lion Lady Comic from the table, and read it. She thought “What if I had Lady at the end of my superhero name,” while reaching for her glass of lemonade.

“Wait, I love to drink lemonade, and I want to put Lady at the end of my name,” Harper thought. Harper dwelled on that name even when she was in bed. Then, she finally settled on the name Lemonade Lady.  

A Rude Awakening

Harper awakened with a bang, she slept great for 2 hours, according to her clock. “What On Earth is that noise, it sounded like a door being pushed on hard,” Harper thought to herself. Crack! Then, Harper heard a piece of glass being broken. Harper thought to herself that a door being beat on, and glass being broken sounded like a home invasion to her. She reached for her pocket knife on her nightstand and quietly opened her bedroom door.  She ran into the door in the process and whispered

“Bad Door.” Then she thought “I need to be quieter, okay here we go.” She walked down the stairs, when she got to the bottom of the stairs she flipped open her pocket knife. Harper heard footsteps in the kitchen.

She crouched down by the seats at the breakfast bar and crept to the island. She heard drawers opening and closing hard.  Harper asked quietly “Mako Man is that you.” “No, This is Mr. Runner, and you know Mako Man,” Mr. Runner asked while peeking around the counter. “Hi,” Harper said while running to the basement. She snuck into the box fort, and woke Mako Man up. “Turn invisible, Mr. Runner broke in,” Harper said. Mako Man immediately turned invisible. Harper picked up the Mako Man comics and tossed them into the washer that's beside the fort. Harper heard footsteps coming toward the basement door, and the basement door opened. “I know that you’re in here Mako Man, my x-ray vision device tells me so,” yelled Mr. Runner.

“Uhh-Ohh,” Harper whispered. Mr. Runner busted the door open, Harper suddenly realized that he had a golden gaff with him. Harper stormed over to the bed and hid Mako Man behind her on the bed. “I know Mako Man is here,” said Mr. Runner. But, Harper then heard footsteps coming to the basement door. “Harper, is that you down there,” asked Mom. “Yes, I couldn’t sleep, So I’m finishing the fort,” said Harper. Mom walked down the steps, she saw Mr. Runner, and fainted.

“Okay Mom, I need to handle this first, then you,” said Harper to her fainted Mom. All of a sudden, Mako Man’s voice emerged, and he said, “Alfredo, airdrop the secret weapon.” “Alfredo is good to eat,” said Harper. “Come on, be serious,” said Mako Man. Then, the sound of helicopter blades emerged. A crate fell down from the ceiling. They looked up, and there were holes from the crate in the attic, second floor, first floor, and then the basement.

Mr. Runner’s Defeat 

Mr. Runner was froze there in confusion from Mom fainting, Mako Man turned visible and opened the crate. In the crate was a potion, a Potion of Defeat. Mako Man signaled to Harper to come to him. “What this potion does exactly, is it instantly disintegrates Mr. Runner,” whispered Mako Man.

Harper stepped away from Mako Man with a smirk. Mako Man opened the cork of the potion, threw it at Mr. Runner, while Mr. Runner was frozen.. Mr. Runner instantly disintegrated, but he reformed himself and flew back to his secret base. “Yeah, We won!” exclaimed Mako Man and Harper.

Mom’s Coma 

Now, Mako Man and Harper had to get  Mom to the hospital. Mako Man pulled out his phone again and called Alfredo. “Alfredo, I need one of my urban cars to drive Harper and me to the hospital, Harper’s Mom is in a coma,” said Mako Man. “Okay, wait a second, why is she in a coma,” asked Alfredo. “She came down into the basement, and Mr. Runner was in there,” Mako Man replied.

“Okay, I wish I was there to see that,” Alfredo said in a weird voice. All of a sudden a Ford Focus dropped from the roof and fell in front of them. “Wow, that’s a tiny car,” said Harper. Harper got into the passenger seat, while Mako Man laid Harper’s Mom down in the backseat. Mako Man got in the driver’s seat, and weirdly tapped his belt buckle. Then, Mako Man turned into a regular person.
