Like humans, Doug needs his teeth brushed, his hair brushed, and his body to be bathed.

This is Penny's fish, Finn.

Unlike the other pets, Finn has to

live in a bowl of water and cannot roam freely.

The bowl that Finn lives in depends on his size. Some fish are so big that they need a big tank to live in.

Finn's tank also needs to be cleaned often, because his waste contains ammonia, which can be toxic to fish.

Finn loves plants and toys! Plants and toys in his tank give him places to hide. Plants also help keep the tank clean, because they produce oxygen.

When she walks into the living room, Penny can usually find her cat, Katie, sitting on the couch.

Katie and other cats need toys and scratching posts to exercise their muscles and keep their claws in good shape.

Cats also need to be groomed. When we comb our cat's fur, the dead top layer of fur is taken off so that they do not swallow it while self-grooming.

A cat's litter box needs to be kept clean so that they have a tidy place to use the bathroom and their fur stays clean.
