Childhood/ Early life
Kenny Rogers was born in Houston,Texas on August 21, 1938 to Edward Floyd Rogers and Lucillie rogers. He was the first of six children. His birth name was Kenneth Donald Roger. He was the first of six children. He was raised in Houston Height Texas. His mom died when he was two years old.

Schooling
Kenny rogers went to many schools throughout his life. He went to Wharton elementary school until 5th grade. Then he went to Washington Junior high until high school. In high school he already knew he wanted to have a music career. He graduated from Jefferson Davis high school in 1956.

Career and Achievments
Kenny rogers had many Achievements. In 1958 he had a hit single "That Crazy feeling". He was asked to join the New Christy Minsterls in 1966. In 1967 he recorded " Just Dropped in (To see my Condition Was In)", And " Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town." In 1974 he left the group to go solo. " Love Lifted Me." became a hit in 1975. Rogers released a movie called " The Gambler in 1978. Also in 1981, Rogers held the No.1 spot on the pop chart.

Fun Facts
In 1983 Kenny became a duet with Dolly Parton. Rogers and Parton won the Academy of country music Award for the Duet. "Make No Mistake She's Mine.", won a Grammy in 1988 for the best country music Vocals performance by a Duet. In 1991 he laughed a restaurant franchise called Kenny Rogers Roasters. In 1998 he sold the restaurant.

Death
Kenny rogers had many highlights of his career. "The Gambler" was a height of his career as a successful solo artist, actor and pop-culture ion. Rogers died of natural causes at his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia, on March 20 2020. He was 81 years old.

" I could never properly thank them for the encouragement and support they've given me throughout my career and the happiness I've experienced as a result of that."

Kenny Rogers was a wonderful man. He sang with Dolly Parton, and the New Christy Minstrels. He had many hit single and Duets like the song he sang with Dolly Parton. "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town." was one of the biggest hits with the New Christy Mintrels of the decade. One thing that he had before he died was the support and encouragement of so many fans and people from around the world. In 1978 one of his biggest and best movie the "Gambler" was released and that was the movie of his dreams and the best he says.
