Josephine was excited today. Today was the day her family would go to Disney World! She was looking forward to flying on the plane, riding all the rides, and having a fun time.

Suddenly, her mom walked into the room. "C'mon, Mom!" she said. "It's almost time to go!" But to her dismay, she replied: "Honey, I'm sorry, but we can't go today."

"Why not?!" said Josephine. Her mom replied: "Look, there's no easy way to say this, but there's a virus going around. If we go to Disney World now, we'll get sick."

And then her mom went to work. Josephine was very scared. A virus? Could she get it? Could she die from it? How could she stop it from hurting her family?

Suddenly, she heard a noise downstairs. Had the virus broken into her house? More scared than ever before, she tiptoed out of her bedroom and down the stairs.

In the living room, Josephine saw a man. He was wearing a white coat, a red tie, and was holding a clipboard. Cautiously, she approached the man. "Who are you?", she asked. The man replied: "You can call me the Doctor."

The Doctor said, "I heard that you're a little afraid of this virus that's going around. I'm here to teach you what this virus is and what you can do to stop it."

First, the Doctor held out something white and gave it to Josephine. "This is a mask. By wearing it when you go outside, you can protect yourself and others from the virus." Josephine put it on.

Next, the Doctor waved his hand. A sink appeared. He said: "If you wash your hands for 20 seconds, you can destroy thousands of viruses at once." Josephine tried it and suddenly felt cleaner.

Finally, the Doctor said, "Now comes the hardest part. If you want to really keep out the virus, you'll have to stay inside as much as possible. What I've just given you are temporary shields, but they won't work if you don't follow this step."
