This book is dedicated to the students in Grenada.

It was 'show and tell' time at school.
The Grade one students were all excited to show off their pets to their friends and teacher, Mrs. Bang-Bang.

Phaedra brought her dog, Grandpet.
Shaundell brought his Turtle, Alroy.
Saige brought her cat, Tom-Tom.

But Little Johnny and I brought nothing because we forgot to tell our parents about the day’s activities.
I was sad and so was Johnny.

Suddenly, I heard someone shouting.
When I looked back, I saw Johnny’s older brother running down the corridor towards us with a black fowl in his hand.

He gave Johnny the fowl and left.
Johnny was very excited.

“Oh my, what shall I do?” I thought.
“I am the only one without a pet.”
This made me feel very sad.
So, I decided to go back home.

On my way home, I met farmer Karl going to his farm.
“Good morning Nazi,” he said.
“Why do you look so sad?”

“I don’t have a pet to take to school,” I said.
“A pet for school?” He asked.
“Since when are pets allowed in school?” He asked in a very confused tone.
“It’s ‘Show and Tell’ day at school,” I explained.
“Oh, I see.” He said while shaking his head.
“Follow me to my farm,” said Farmer Karl.

. “I will give you a nice, pink, chubby piglet.”
“ Really? Really? Thank you! Thank you! Farmer Karl,” I yelled gleefully.
“You are very kind.”

Then, I followed him to his farm, and he allowed me to choose one of the piglets from the pen.

I ran excitedly back to the school yard, the students were in the lines with the pets, and ready to enter the classroom.
I quietly joined the line and we all entered together.
Mrs. Bang-Bang called the attendance register and class began.
It is 'show and tell' said Mrs. Bang-Bang in her high pitched voice. Remember you must raise your hand and wait on your turn.

The children answered excitedly, "ÿes miss!" Students showed off their pets and told stories about them. Then, it was my turn.

I told the story of how I got my new pet and my friends helped me find a name for my piglet. We called her, Peggy the Piglet.
