One evening, the Mickenny children were
arguing over whether they should get a boy
or a girl elf. Joshua said “I want a boy elf
because it’s cooler than a girl!” “Well, I want
a girl elf because it’s better than a boy,” said
Hannah. “Mom, please!” they both said
together. “I think Santa will take care of both
of your wishes because I wrote him a letter,”
said their mom. Just as she finished her
sentence the family heard a thump at the
door.
Joshua and Hannah looked at each other.
“Do you think it’s the elf?” said Hannah.
They rushed to the door to see what
made the noise. When they opened the
door they saw two packages! Each child
grabbed a package and ran inside to open
it. “Wow! Mom you are right! He must
have gotten your letter!” said Joshua.
“What are we going to name them?” They
thought of many names but Hannah
decided to name the girl elf Snowy and
Joshua named the boy elf Speedy.
That night the elves made their way to
the North Pole and told Santa how the
children stopped arguing right away
upon their arrival. As they flew back
they talked about where they should
hide next. At the house they flew
through the chimney and Speedy
landed on the end table by the couch
and Snowy landed by the T.V.
throwing football in the house.
The kids could hear their
mom yelling, “Go outside
with that football please!”
from the kitchen.
All of a sudden Joshua dove for a badly thrown
ball that was headed for the lamp on the end
table by the couch. As Joshua caught the ball
his shoulder brushed speedy and knocked him
off the table. “Oh No!” exclaimed Hannah “You
touched him!” “But, but I didn’t mean to,” said
Joshua sadly.
Mrs. Mckinny came running in the room. “Are
you okay?” she asked. “Yes ma’am, I am, but I
don’t think Speedy is.” “Well, let’s put up the
ball for the night and go get ready for bed.
Maybe he will be okay in the morning.”
After the children went to bed, Snowy
hurried to Speedy. He was not feeling
well at all. “Can you help me back to the
Elf ER?” Speedy asked. “Yes, I will help
you. Let’s hurry!” Snowy helped
Speedy up the chimney and they began
flying to the North Pole. Snowy was
hurrying so much that she didn’t realize
Speedy had fallen to the ground
because his magic had gone.
Speedy hit the ground with a thud. His
fall awoke one of Santa’s magical
snowmen who was sleeping nearby. The
snowman wobbled over to Speedy and
realized he had lost his magic. He
reached into his satchel, pulled out
some elf dust, and sprinkled it on
Speedy. Immediately, the wind began
to swirl and pick up snow. Along with
the snow, it lifted Speedy off of the
ground and began carrying him on his
way to the North Pole.
The gentle wind continued carrying Speedy all the
way to the Elf ER at the North Pole. When he
arrived, a special stretcher made of marshmallows
being carried by two elves greeted him at the door.
The wind disappeared and Speedy floated onto the
stretcher.
The elves quickly pushed him into the Elf ER where
they gave him a special Candy Cane shot to wake
him up and make him feel a little better.
A few minutes later, Snowy flew into the Elf ER
looking for Speedy. “Oh, I am so glad you made it!
I lost you in the snow and couldn’t find you
anywhere! I bet you will be better in no time!”
