A Bobcats Tale

He presses his nose to the grass. Over the smell of leaves, grass, and branches, there is an intruding smell. An enemy had stepped onto his territory, and the bobcat was ready to fend the intruder away, so he would not come back. The scent wafted into his noise, and his lips curled back, revealing his sharp teeth. He wanted to teach the trespasser a rule.

The leaves a dirt touched his noise, tickling it. The scent he had picked up was still fresh.

About Bobcats

Bobcats usually like to live alone. They are big cats that live in the wild. They have a big, thick coat and a short, stubby tale. Bobcats are also excellent climbers. This helps them get food. Bobcats also have sharp claws so they can catch food and fight of intruders.

Bobcat Tale: Following the scent

The snow flakes in the wind dance kindly, then landed to the ground. They looked beautiful, but they had an icy touch. The bobcat padded forward, through the snow. His noise was still on the ground, following the scent of the intruder. His fur lightly brushed the snow, but he did not care. Ice along with deep snow hit his paws. His feet sank into the snow. But he did not notice.

Fur

A bobcat has a ruff of fur at the cheeks, making it look a bit chubby. The fur on their body can be buff-brown, yellowish-brown, reddish-brown, and light gray. Some of their body can be white. Bobcats usually live in cold climate, so their coats are usually very thick.

A Bobcat Tale: Walking

As he bobcat climbs through the wilderness, the scent grows stronger. It smells of twigs and bird. Whoever the intruder even was, he had recently eaten the bobcats prey. This made him angry. A growl broke out in his throat. It was a small, rumbling sound, the growl. It showed his hatred toward the prey taker. He would show the intruder a battle... and birds like blue jays tweeted in the trees.

Fur: Climate

The climate in where a bobcat lives also effects the fur. Bigger bobcats live in the North. Smaller live in the South. Bobcats tend to have thick fur. Sometimes, it is not snowy in the North. Bobcats also have black spots on their body. Sometimes they are even more visible on the legs!

A Bobcats Tale: Changing forest

The bobcat moves a bit farther through the forest. He begins running. He now knows he is close to the intruder. The forest starts looking different. He is getting closer to getting out of his territory. He needs to catch up fast, to drive the intruder, who stole his prey out, and teach him a lesson. But the forest was getting green. Looking more like Spring. Green plants stuck out of the dirt. He wasn't aware of the time passing.
