Once upon a time in the kingdom of Avalor there lived a Princess named Scarlett. Scarlett was not like your average princess while most princess's were proper and responsible, Scarlet was the exact opposite. Instead of being proper Scarlet acted like a child and preferred to spend her time playing and having fun.

One day as Scarlett was out in the garden playing with her two younger sister's one or the royal guards approached her and said her mother Queen Skylar wanted to see her right away.

When Scarlett got to her mothers room she could tell right away that something was wrong.

"Mom are you ok"? Scarlet asked concerned .

"Yes Scarlett honey I just have a cold and I need you to do me a favor". replied Queen Skylar.

"What is it". asked Scarlett.

"I need you to take over as Queen for me until I feel better". said Queen Skylar weakly.

"Mom are you sure about this, I don't know the first thing about being Queen". replied Scarlett.

"I'm sure you will do fine honey, I really need you to do this for me". pleaded the Queen.

"Ok Mom, I'll do it". Scarlett answered.

"Thank you sweetie, now go out there and make me proud". said Queen Skylar.

When Scarlett got to the throne room, she caught her two younger sisters, Summer and Sasha playing a game of catch.

"Girls, you know the rules, no playing ball in the palace". scolded Scarlett.

"Your not the boss of us". they said rudely.

"Actually I am, Mom is sick today and she put me in charge so you have to do as I say". Scarlett explained.

"So you could say we can play ball in the palace". Summer suggested.

"But Mom's rules are no playing ball in the palace". Scarlett told them.

"But if you are in charge you could change the rules". said Sasha.

"I guess for today it will be ok". Scarlett said reluctantly.

A little bit later, one of the royal guards came in and asked if they could have the day off from running drills and go to Colarado Springs.

"But Colarado Springs is off limits". said Scarlett.

"But you are the acting Queen and you could change that and you would be mighty popular with the guards if you did". he suggested.

"Ok just for today". she agreed.

"Thank you your Majesty.

A little while later, Scarlett started to feel a bit guilty about not following her mother's rules, but before she could think of what to do, the captain of the guard stormed in and demanded to know where his troops were.

"They went to Colarado Springs".

"What, who gave them permission to do that they know it is strictly forbidden". the captain exclaimed.

"It was me, I thought it would be ok to give them a break for once". she explained.

"I knew it was a bad idea for your mother to put you in charge, now if you will excuse me I have to go round up my men".

After the captain left, Scarlett decided to go ask her mother for some advise.

"Mom, do you have a minute"? asked Scarlett.

"Sure sweetie what's wrong"? she asked.

"I let the guards go to Colarado Springs because they asked me too, and now the captain is angry and says I am a bad Queen so I don't know what to do". Scarlett explained.

"Firstly, why did you let them go to Colarado Springs when you know it is off limits"? she asked sternly.

"Because I thought it would make me more popular with them if I did". Scarlett answered.

"Honey, you can't go making decisions based on what is popular, you make decisions on what is right". her mother explained.

"You're right, I'm sorry Mom". Scarlett answered sheepishly.

Just then the captain of the guard walked into the room.

"Your Majesty, it seems we have a problem". he stated.

"What seems to be the problem"? she asked.

"You have to see it for yourself to believe it". he told her.

When they got to the throne room Queen Skylar ans Scarlett were surprised to find it full of animals.

"Where did all these animals come from"? asked the Queen.

When I got to Colarado Springs to pick up my men, they said when they went swimming they got changed into animals". explained the captain.

"Whatever could be causing this"? asked Scarlett.

"I don't know but we must find out what it is and fast". replied the Queen

When they got to Colarado Springs they started looking for clues.

"Mother, what are these purple vines in the water"? asked Scarlett.

"I don't know, lets follow them and see where they go". she suggested.

They tracked the vines into a dark cave and in the middle of the cave was a giant tree made of purple vines.

"Mom, what is that"? asked Scarlett.

"That's a Purple Nurple tree, if you fall into it's roots and someone says the name of an animal or creature you become that animal permanently". 

"So when the guards were swimming in the pond, they must have gotten tangled up in the roots, and someone turned them into animals". said Scarlett.

"Is there a way to change them back"? asked the captain.

"Only the person who turned you into the animal can change you back". said the Queen.

"We have to figure out who turned the guards into animals and fast". added Scarlett.
