Hi, my name is Roberta. I have a friend named Fear. Well technically, he's my ex-friend. He isn't really a NICE friend, to be exact. Not even ENCOURAGING. Instead, he makes me scared in some way.
He always has some new ways to make me
scared and runaway or avoid things. Like once,
he made me scared of
taking the math test, so I didn't do it. After
that. my teacher sent a note home. I was
really unhappy.
This story is about a time when I got in a lot of trouble because of fear. Let me begin....

It was a regular school day when Fear came up to me and said, "I think you're going to get a bad grade on your test. Even if you study hard! You're dumb." he said.
I suddenly felt nervous. Was I going to get a bad grade on the test? What if I do? I wasn't confident anymore. I felt anxiety. What's more, I was scared!

Mom, Fear said I was going to get a bad grade on my test and that I'm dumb.
Don't listen to Fear, sweetie. Believe in yourself!
When I got home, I told my parents what Fear told me.

Settle down kids, settle down.

Our teacher, Ms. Sattie, asked us to take a math test each. I was SO nervous, that I actually pretended that I had a stomach flu!

Uh, yeah! Stomach flu!
Our school nurse, Mrs. Hailey, said, "I heard you had the stomach flu?" "Uh, yeah! Stomach flu!" I answered back. "Hmm..." she mumbled.

I am very disappointed in you, Roberta! How dare you fake a stomach flu in school!
S-sorry mom...

At the end, Mrs. Hailey figured out I was faking the stomach flu and sent a note to my mom. That's when I got in BIG trouble!

Haven't I told you not to listen to that Fear!?
Yes... and I'm sorry! I will never listen to Fear again!
My mom said that Fear was a bad influence on me, and that I should have a friend that will have a better effect on me.

So the next day at school, I tried REALLY hard to avoid Fear. But that, wasn't enough. After lunch, I went back to my classroom. That's when I realized two new faces.

I'm Roberta.
I'm Generosity.
And I'm Kindness.
We decided to to meet up with each other at lunch tomorrow. So, tomorrow at lunch, we introduced ourselves.

Now that I have Kindness and Generosity on my side, I don't get in trouble that often. And also, for some reason, Fear hasn't been showing up in school very often. But, I think that's good news, not bad news.
