

\Brothers In Space


Lincoln and Benjamin were brothers. Lincoln was the older brother. He was four years old. Benjamin was one. Together they loved to play and imagine they were superheroes in outer space.


One day, Lincoln and Benjamin asked their mom if they could go to the space museum. Lincoln promised to make his bed, clean up his room, and help put the dishes away.



While their mom was very pleased that Lincoln offered to do some chores, she had to remind him that all the museums were closed at the moment due to a global pandemic. Lincoln did not understand. His mom tried to explain that many people in the world are sick right now, and because of that, a lot of places are closed, and staying home is a lot safer.
"Maybe we can create our own museum here in the house", Mom suggested.
"Okay, can we be superheroes and pretend to travel to different planets?" Lincoln asked excitedly.


Together they set up their own "museum". Lincoln stacked LEGOs to represent the different buildings they would fly over on their way to the moon. He drew and cut out pictures of different planets to hang on the walls. He also brought out his nightlight, it was a globe that created a galaxy of stars on the ceiling. Lincoln also asked his mom to help him write the names of planets and what was special about each one. He was very good at copying the letters that she wrote for him.
The last step was building their rocket ship. Mom and Lincoln aligned the dining room chairs to create their ship. Lincoln was the Pilot of course. As Mom, Lincoln, and Benjamin took their seats, Lincoln counted down for lift-off. "10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1..BLAST-OFF! Everyone hold on tight, this trip is going to be a bumpy one!" Lincoln said as he pretended to push buttons on the space ship.
