What's wrong?
Sigh
It was one warm sunny day when Bev found her daughters
peering out the windows. The laughter from the children playing
outside could be heard from inside the house.
“Brooke, Danica what’s wrong?” Bev asked.
Brook let out a heavy sigh before she answered, “Mommy will
daddy ever take us to buy the go karts?”
“Yeah, he said he would take us yesterday!” Danica said.
“Girls, I’m sorry but daddy’s really busy at the café,” Bev consoled
her daughters, “Why don’t you go see if he’s free today?”
Suddenly the girls jumped up as if stuck by lightning and threw
their shoes on. Danica raced out of the house and Brooke followed
suit.
“Be careful!” Bev called out after them.

Wait Danica!
Artifact: Danica's sister Brooke helped encourage
Danica throughout her life
to achieve success

Danica ran down the busy streets as the wind ran through her
hair.
“Wait up!” Brooke called out to Danica. Danica slowly came to
a halt in the front of the city park and
Brooke walked up beside her. The birds could be heard loudly
chirping from the city buildings.
“Danica, why are you so fast?” Brooke huffed.
“I don’t know but I can’t wait to ride those go-karts daddy
promised us.” Danica replied.
“Me too, maybe we can go as fast as those birds,” Brooke said
pointing to the flurry of birds flying by. Danica looked at the
birds as they flew above the trees, remembering back to the
winter that changed her life.

The snow fell from the sky like sparkling diamonds. Danica
saw her father riding the snow mobile.
“Look honey, look at daddy,” said her mother, Bev pointing to
TJ. Danica peeked out underneath her mother’s huge fur coat.
“Wow, daddy’s really fast on that snowmobile,” Brooke said as
TJ made another lap. Danica stared at her father wishing she
could ride as fast on a snow mobile. Suddenly her father
stopped in front of her.
“Who wants to get on?” TJ asked.
“Me!” Danica and Brooke said simultaneously. Her father's was
an earthquake.

Few months ago...
Look at daddy go!

No look!
They're waiting in line for ice cream

Later she remembered Brooke asking to learn to ride a snow mobile. Their
father laughed and said he would get them a go-kart but it just never
happened because their father was too busy. Danica sighed sadly as the
wind picked up again.
“Danica, what’s wrong?” Brooke asked.
“Nothing,” Danica replied, "First one to the café wins!"
Danica took off without another thought and Brooke ran off after her. They
ran through the park and into the busy city. They stopped right in front of a
new building with a long line of people waiting outside. "Wow, looks like
Daddy will be busy again today," Brooke said sadly. Danica looked at the
long line and noticed that the people were actually waiting to get ice cream
from the store next door.
"No look, the people are waiting for ice cream!" Danica said excitededly.

How may I help you?
Did you forget about your promise?

They walked into the café just in time to see their father, TJ wiping down the tables.
"Hi girls," he said, "What can I do for you today?"
"Did you forget your promise?" Brooke asked.
"What promise?" TJ asked with smile.
"Daddy!" Danica whined loud like a horse.
"Just kidding!" TJ said, "Mom already called to tell me you were coming."
He laughed as the girls grumbled.
"Lets go once the café closes, okay?" TJ asked.
"Okay," The girls said happily.
They sat down bored watching the clock as people walked in and out of the café.
Soon the clock reached six and TJ was found counting the money at the cashier.
"Girls, are you ready to go?" TJ asked.
Brooke and Danica nodded as they hopped to their feet. TJ and the girls walked out
of the café.

Hi I'm Bob!
I'm looking for some go-karts for my daughters

"Oh no!" TJ cried out, "I forgot my umbrella!"
Indeed the sky was crying. TJ and the girls ran as fast as they could down the
street into the store called Cars and Things. Danica looked around to see colorful
go-karts hanging from the walls.
"Wow!" Danica said.
A tall man came up and introduced himself to TJ.
"Hi my name is Bob," Bob said, "How may I help you?"
"Hi I'm TJ," TJ responded, "I'm looking for some go-karts for my daughters."
"Alrighty then!" Bob beamed. He walked over to the counter and pulled out some
measuring materials.
"How old are you girls?" Bob asked as he grabbed his clipboard.
"Hi I'm Brooke and I'm 7 years old," Brooke said enthusiastically.
"I'm Danica and I'm 9," Danica said somewhat softly.
"Ok let me measure you guys up and then we can look at some go karts that are
right for you ," Bob said. Bob started to measure the girls and jotted down a
couple of notes in his clipboard. After he finished , he led them down an isle full
of go-karts.
