Beaux was the prettiest creature in the tropical forest. With his feathers as vibrant as the sun, no other animal had looks like him. But Beaux was conceited. He prided himself in his beauty, which made the other animals in the forest envious of him.

One afternoon, Beaux was strolling around the forest judging every other animal in his path. "That lion's coat is as dirty as a bucket of mud." he thought, "Why does that bird have such big feet? None of them could even compare to me and my beauty."  Beaux looked at all of them in disgust while he continued to strut through the forest.

OOF! Suddenly, Beaux ran into a monkey laying on the ground. "Help me, please!" the monkey stared at Beaux with helpless eyes. 

"What are you doing on this dirty floor? What are you doing? You stupid monkey!" Beaux quickly stepped away, his eyes widening in shock.

"I am not stupid!" the monkey answered, "I accidentally fell out of my tree. Please, help me stand up." The monkey reached his hand out to Beaux, who slapped it away with his wings. 

"How dare you try to touch me?" Beaux shouted in anger, "You are dirty, and I don't know where you've been. Stay on the floor. I don't care." Beaux stepped over the monkey and continued his walk. 

Little did he know, the monkey was already planning his revenge. 

That night, Beaux went to sleep in his usual spot. He was in such a deep slumber, that he didn't even realize that the monkey had snuck up behind him holding a pair of scissors. 

"Now everyone will see your true beauty," the monkey whispered. Snip, Snip, Snip. One by one, he chopped Beaux's feathers off and stuffed them into a sack.
