This book is created as an appreciation and memory of Christmas 2020.

My Christmas always starts with decorating my room. It's actually one of my favorite Christmas traditions because it's the first thing that brings the Christmas spirit into me.
So I turned my Christmas playlist on Spotify, lit some candles, and got to work. I took my star-shaped decorations which I had baked from salt dough, and hung on the wall. Then I hung my red and green Christmas chains on the windows and put an advent wreath on my desk. I added some Christmas little objects on the shelves and last but not least I added my little Christmas tree, that had already been decorated from the previous year thanks to my laziness. The very last step was to turn the magical Christmas on.

This day we all woke to see a blanket of snow, which created a magical Christmas atmosphere. Like a little kid, I was so thrilled to go for a winter walk so I ran out of the house as soon as our class ended. I took a seven kilometer walk in a delightful frozen landskapes covered with fresh snow. Most of the path was in the forest where I spotted some roe deer and hares but unfortunately, I didn't manage to take a picture of them. It was so calming to just walk and listen to the snow crunching under your feet while feeling the warm of upcoming Christmas.

Making Christmas sweets is one of the traditions that must not be left out. My mom and me make several types of these sweets. When I was little, the mini vanilla rolls were my favorite, and when there was a time for the baby Jesus's visit, my mom used to eat some of them from the table, pretending the Baby Jesus loves them too. Another one of my favorites are traditional gingerbreads. I never understood how people make the frosting on them look so nice. Mine always look as if 3-year old child was making the frosting, but they taste amazing anyway. Before Christmas we usually exchange some of the sweets with our grandmothers so we have about 12 kinds of sweets in the end.

12/18/2020, A Christmas Party
For the last 6 years, my best friends and me arrange this little Christmas party, which always consist of the following program. After we all meet in one of our homes, we start by eating some pizza because that is the last salty thing we eat before we get surrounded by all the sweets, that each of us had brought. After that, we usually settle on the couch while tasting all the sweets and drinking eggnog and hot wine. After a little while we always watch Home Alone which is so entertaining and funny, even though we all know every sentence of it by heart. This Christmas party is one of the few moments in a year when the time stops and we all just enjoy each other by chatting and laughing about all sorts of things.

12/19/2020, A Christmas Shopping
A Christmas shopping with my friends is another big joy that Christmas brings. We love shopping in the Chodov shopping center surrounded by magical Christmas decoration that makes us feel like we're in a movie. After we fill our stomachs with some KFC's meals, we search our favorite stores through, looking not just for the Christmas presents. Sometimes we try some funny or weird clothes on, just for fun (not this time of course). We usually go to see the Christmas markets in the center of Prague after the shopping. Even though it was a little different in 2020, we had a great time as usual and made it to the Old Town Square anyway.

12/22/2020, Decorating the Christmas Tree
Decorating the christmas tree was always such a joy for me and my brother. Sadly, he doesn't like it anymore, so this year, this Christmas activity was up to my mom, me and my brother's girlfriend. We used colorful Christmas balls, stars, candy and of course the Christmas lights, for decorating the tree. We always have live tree, usually a fir, which smells so beautifully. But I wouldn't mind the artificial tree at all.

12/24/2020, The Christmas Eve (Part 1)
The feeling when you wake up and realize that it's Christmas is just gorgeous. I was at home with my family and we spent this day as usual this year. We all had "Vánočka" (a special type of sweet bread with raisins) and some other Christmas sweets for breakfast. Then I started preparing a potato salad while my brother and my mom were preparing a karp fish for the dinner. On December 24, the TV is always running all day long, amusing us with all our favourite Christmas movies. In the afternoon we went to cemetery to light some candles and back home we arranged a short Christmas videochat with my friends.
