I dedicate this book to my little sisters.

Once upon a time, there was a friendly fish named Fred. He lived in a tiny, little rock home, on the ocean bed. Life was great except for one thing, Fred the friendly fish, was terrifying.

Fred was massive. In fact, he was seven feet long, and boy oh boy, Fred was strong. He had a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth that could break a coral reef! His snout was long and pointy and his eyes were very dark. Some would even think, Fred was a shark!

All of the fish were fearful of poor Fred, every time they saw him, they always fled. “All I want is some friends of my own,” Wept Fred. “Why is it me that has to be alone?”

An idea then sparked in Fred’s head, a plan to make others like him instead. He stayed up all night long making sure the plan was precise, hoping the fish would finally be nice. For when tomorrow eventually came, Fred the friendly fish would not seem to be the same.

Fred had taped down his fin and put on a big grin. He found a mustache and shades and made some pink lemonades. Fred planned to make at least one new mate, with a fresh look and drinks, as his bait. Fred the friendly fish then swam off into the ocean in hopes of causing zero fish any commotion.

“Hello, fine fellow! Would you like some pink lemonade?” Fred asked a passing by fish, praying they weren’t afraid.
“Darn tootin’ I do, and I’d enjoy a straw to go with that fine drink too,” Fred nodded his head and filled the glass. Happy as a clam he thought finally, a friend at last! Next, he bent down to pick up a straw but then realized, his plan had a major flaw.

Fred’s shades and mustache had fallen off his face, and the fish had vanished, without a trace. The fish had seen what Fred really turned out to be, so he swam away scared, into the big, blue sea.

Fred’s plan had failed, and he was ever so crushed. He swam home with his head down, his dream of friends flushed. “I hate the way I look! I wish I wasn’t a scare. Deep down we are all the same, but they don’t care!”
“Somebody! Please come save us!” Fred hears a school of fish shout. Interrupting Fred the friendly fish, from his angry pout.

Somebody! Please come save us!

Fred looked to his left, Fred looked to his right but what he saw, was one very scary sight. Trapped in a net was all the fish he knew, Fred thought to himself, What in the world will I do?
