Genesis Group Project

Upon hearing about the plentiful sale of grains in Egypt Jacob decides to send all of his sons, except for Benjamin because he was his wife's last kid before she passed, to attain these grains so that they will not starve.

Little did he know that they would encounter their long lost brother, Joseph, whom they had thought had died years ago. Joseph, upon seeing his brothers, recognizes them as his own brothers but decides to not let this be known to them.

Instead, he acts as if he does not recognize them and claims that they are spies attempting to steal his grain. He decides that in order for them to prove their loyalty and truthfulness, he will keep one brother in captivity while they go to get their 12th and youngest brother to prove that they are not lying.
However, Joseph knows that he is the youngest brother but his brother's believe that he vanquished and disappeared into the wild. Knowing this, he allows them to go back to attempt to acquire what he desires, knowing that anything they bring him will be a lie.
They returned to Joseph with jewels and other gifts in order to bribe him into giving their brother back. Upon receiving these gifts, Joseph invites them to dine with him for supper that evening where they shall reveal to him that they are truthful men by showing their supposed youngest brother, Benjamin.

Joseph plays along with this and decides to give them plentiful amounts of food to give to their family along with a silver chalice as a reward for their “honesty”. However, Joseph sends his servant to regain his silver chalice and sent the message to them saying that he knows they were dishonest and undeserving of his chalice.

The brothers are forced to return again. Joseph then reveals to them that he is the brother that supposedly died years ago. After reuniting with his family Joseph beckons for the brothers to bring his father to Egypt.

After seeing his father again, they embraced for the first time in years. The news spread to the pharaoh where he decided to pay for land so that they family could live together one more.
