Ever get out of bed in the morning with hair
that is completely unrecognizable? Ever question
how that happened? There is a magical being that
exists that very few people know about.
I know only because I caught the creature in a
trap.

One morning, I stared in the mirror curiously with my eyes
half opened. I let out a yawn. My eyes suddenly widened. What
the heck? My hair looked like I had been rolling around wrestling
an alligator in my sleep. "Mom!” I wailed from the bathroom to
the hallway. She was busy getting ready for work and getting
ready to drop me and my brother off to school. “Are you okay?"
She replied.
"Ya! I have a question for you!" I roared back.
“Well, we will talk about it in the car!" she demanded.

In the bathroom, I took both of my hands and ran them
under the cool running water under the faucet. I cupped my
hands so that it made a bowl like shape. The water quickly filled
and was overflowing from my hands. I splashed the water onto
my blond hair. I glanced back in the mirror and shot the mirror
a smile. I make this look good I thought to myself as I gave a
big smirk in the mirror.

Over the next 20 to 30 minutes I finished getting ready for
school.
"LOGAN,Let's GO!" my mom yelled from the van. I ran quickly
through the kitchen into the garage and slammed the door.
“You had a question for me?" mom inquired.
"Ya! You know in the morning when you wake up?" I muttered.

Yes," mom responded.
“I was wondering how come your hair gets so messed
up? I mean, I resemble a person who stuck their finger
in an electrical socket!" I continued. My mother started
to explain.
"My mom told me there was a mystical creature
called a bed fairy that entered our rooms every night.
They compete each night for who can make the biggest
nest." my mom said with a warm smile.
"Oh! That is way too cool! I just thought that it was
from me tossing and turning all night."

I was very intrigued by this. I wanted to meet a bed fairy! I
was curious as to what they looked like. I questioned what they
ate. I cruised through the school day and all I could think about
was the bed fairies.
That afternoon I established a plan to make a trap and try to
catch a bed fairy. I analyzed the situation and got a brilliant
idea. I decided to put that sticky goo stuff that mom always puts
in her hair, in my hair. That way when the bed fairy comes to
make a nest in my hair, it will get stuck.

That night at the dinner table, I placed my fork on my plate.
“All done! May I be excused?" I asked my mom.
“Sure," mom agreed.
I ran up the old wooden stairs as quickly as I could. I
dodged the toys that I left out and headed for my parents room.
I squatted down and opened the cabinets. There must
be something in here for me to use. I read the labels;
toothpaste, nah too messy and not enough stick I thought to
myself. Vaseline;that would make the bed fairies slide right out of
my hair. Aqua net super hold hair spray! That is it! I will use
some hair spray to catch a bed fairy.

PSHHHPSPPSH! I held the trigger down for about 1
minute waving my arms back and forth while inhaling the
horrible smell. I better catch a one I concluded.
I skipped down the hallway and entered my bedroom.
With a big jump, I climbed onto my twin size bed. I wiggled
back and forth to get comfortable. As soon as my head hit
the pillow, I was asleep.

Beep, Beep, Beep! "ughhh…" I groaned. Suddenly, I
remembered that I tried to catch a bed fairy in my hair. I jumped
out of bed, jogged across the hall to the bathroom. I looked in
the mirror. My hair was a mess alright. A big mess. I grabbed my
comb and then started to take the comb down the back of my
hair.
" HEY! HEY! STOP!" I heard a tiny voice say.

My heart began to beat faster. My breath suddenly got
shorter. My eyes widened and I stared in the mirror. I couldn't
believe my eyes. Caught in my hair was an interesting creature.
It was about the size of a grape. It looked to be a girl with short
blond hair. She was wearing a purple dress that came to her
ankles. One of her pink wings were caught in my hair. There
was a massive knot. Now that I caught the bed fairy, I didn't
know what to do. I had no clue how I would get her out.

“YES! Once the sun comes up I have to be back in our hiding
places or I will turn to dust!" She hissed.
“Okay, well what should do, I could cut your wing." I taunted.
“How would I be able to fly then?” she blurted.
"Good point!" I noted.
“I KNOW!" I busted out. “I will cut my hair and set you free!
It’s just hair and it will grow back.”
The bed fairy agreed that was an excellent idea.
