Princess Zara was Beautiful, kind, and intelligent. But she was scared of everything! Her parents,
the King and the Queen, were very worried and couldn't figure out a way to make her brave.
Every night, Princess Zara's mother, the Queen, would sing a special song to chase away monsters
"No big bad monster tonight,
Not for my Princess, so sleep tight,
Little bitty darling, go to sleep,
All bad monsters away we'll keep."
But one day, Princess Zara was so tired
after playing that she fell asleep without
listening to the song. At midnight, she heard
someone weeping. she woke
up and was shocked to
see a monster sitting
right on the edge
of her bed!
She was So scared, she couldn't even
shout. The monster continued to cry,
without noticing Princess Zara. Summoning
her courage, she finally managed to
whisper, "Excuse me? who are you?"
The monster looked at her. " My name
is Peachpie the Porcky," he replied through
his tears.
Peachpie the Porcky?" she asked. "Is that even a proper name for a monster?"
"No," wailed Peachpie. "It's not! I have friends who
are called Krull the Reaper and Krunch the Phantom.
But my mom named me Peachpie the Porcky!"
Princess Zara felt sorry for the monster," You look
so big and scary that the name really doesn't matter."
"Ah, I won't be scary much longer.
My tail spikes are shedding!"
Princess Zara looked at Peachpie's long tail, it
was long, and there were patches where the spikes
had shed she said, " Don't worry, Peachpie. I'll help
you get your spikes back." Peachpie looked at her in
wonder. "You will? But how ?"
"My mom puts a lotion in my hair to make it
grow longer. Maybe that will help." So,
She got the lotion and applied it on
Peachpie's taill, and told him
to come back the
next night.

The next night, when her mom
was about to sing to her, Princess
Zara said,"No mamma, I don't need
you to sing to me tonight." Surprised
but happy, the Queen agreed.
Princess Zara stayed up till midnight, waiting for
Peachpie. But when Peachpie came, he looked unhappy.
"My spikes are still shedding," he said. His tail had
shed more spikes since the previous night. "Don't worry Peachpie," Princess Zara said. " I have another idea!"
